Need Machine Info- ResMed vs ResVent

Post by letchworth » Mon Feb 28, 2022 9:15 am

My Resmed s-10 machine gave me a message "The motor Has Exceeded Life Expectancy" (or something similar to that).
Called local Supplier & they said that the backlog at ResMed is so bad that they can't guarantee which brand they can supply, either ResMed S-11 or ResVent I-Breeze. I have not heard of ResVent- but have not been in the market for machines since getting my ResMed S-10 (4-7-2015).

Called another supplier in the region and was told they can order ResMed s-11, but it would take 6 weeks for delivery. When I told the Therapist about the message on the s-10, she said that would be a "Golden Ticket" for replacement - but that it would take about 6-weeks to get a replacement.

Question: Is ResVent a reliable brand? Can anyone compare the two recommended- or just stick with the brand I know?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That's the standard message when a machine has surpassed the normal hours of use life expectancy but it doesn't mean that the machine will quit tomorrow.

I know nothing about the ResVent brand or how it does things...it's not compatible with OSCAR though so if you run into problems I don't know how easy, or not, it would be to figure out how to fix a problem with your therapy.
It probably uses a different algorithm as well.

I would wait for the ResMed if it were me.

There's a review of the Resvent iBreeze here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ISz_2P ... S7r8uM55Ls

There's also a pretty lame review of the iBreeze software here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgYf7XNdKp4&t=164s
* Download Oscar
* Oscar help
* An alternative to Oscar - try SleepHQ

I have no medical training or qualifications. Take my advice for what it's worth.
