Can you import data into Oscar/ Sleepyhead without SD card?

Post by colomom » Mon Feb 07, 2022 2:06 pm

My parent who lives in another state recently started using APAP (Airsense 11). It would be a challenge for him to download OSCAR and look at data himself. Is there to a way he could send me the data from his SD card electronically so I can look at it on my computer? I have Sleepyhead and have plugged in my SD card to look at my own data many times, but wasn’t sure if or how you could import data without the SD card.

I have done it but it involves the person with the SD card conveying the contents of the SD card to you....email attachment if the contents are small enough or using some place like dropbox where the contents have been uploaded and you go there to download the contents. Most likely would involve zip/compress of the SD card contents.
Don't try to send each folder/file separately as that involves reconstruction of the contents exactly and its just too difficult....I have tried it. But zipping the entire SD card in one step is actually easy.

Then you putting the data on your computer and using SleepyHead/OSCAR to access the data on your computer.
You don't even have to put the SD card contents on a SD card...you can direct SleepyHead to the folder on your computer and import from it.

The contents of the SD card has to be an exact copy though. Can't be missing anything and that's why you can't take bits and pieces and build another main contents folder.

I have done it when I wanted to review a lot of reports for someone and it was just too much work for everyone to have them make a gazillion screen shots.

It is a bit of work but it can be done.

Thanks so much Pugsy, I think that may be doable!

Your generosity in sharing your wealth of knowledge is truly appreciated! The only thing My Air tells me is that his AHI which is averaging about 10 could be better, hopefully I can get a better idea of what could be contributing to him waking up with Sleepyhead.

Can you not get total number of events in each category on MyAir?
I thought there was an additional page....or maybe that was DreamMapper????
If you can get number in each category...or mainly look for very many centrals...you could maybe get sort of an idea without having to see the other detailed data.

Unfortunately as far as I know I don’t think you can get a breakdown of AHI on myAir. I don’t normally use myAir, but I have it on my phone and played around with it with it and can’t find any way to get a breakdown of the AHI.

I don't use MyAir at all so I am no help. Sorry.

There is the second page of the sleep report that will tell AI numbers and central index if they could scroll further into the sleep report.

Mainly look for high central numbers and if they are the majority of the AHI then we look at what might be causing them rather than the knee jerk reaction to increase the baseline pressure. Like if EPR is being used...reduce or eliminate EPR.

Otherwise might be best to look at the detailed data yourself.

Finally if they can't master compressing and getting the SD card to where you can upload it there's always the old fashioned way. Have them buy a spare SD card to use and snail mail the old card to you.

The myAir app is actually pretty decent.

Select History along the bottom of the screen then swipe left to select Events.

Then tap REPORT at the upper right of the screen to see a sleep therapy report with daily Usage Hours, daily AHI and Leak 95% level.

You can get all that on the machine's LCD screen.
MyAir doesn't give details though....like when the apneas were flagged or what kind of apneas were flagged that compose that overall AHI...which could be critical to figuring out a problem and how to fix it.
MyAir works great for a quick review of general information but it's useless if we need more detailed information which is what the OP in this thread was needing.
