I would expect her to use the force from home. No travel required.

I found adjusting to VAuto pretty comfortable. On the other forum someone said adjust the trigger, if things seem out of sync. I set my to “High”
She thought EPR on an AutoSet was by default baked in at “Very High”
guess i'll find out when i hit the rack with it.

On a more serious note. When I moved from the Air 10 AS for Her to the VAuto, Pugsy advised me on the settings based on my AutoSet settings. She also shared her experience on increasing Pressure Support (PS) to 4.

Based on her experience, I set PS to 4 and love it. Feels so much more comfortable than the EPR of 3 I was using on the AutoSet. Once you're settled in with your VAuto, consider decreasing Min EPAP and increasing Pressure Support (PS), see if it's a fit.

thank you for the sage advice.

yup pugsy told me privately that she thought i'd love ps. will see how it goes.

i'm going now to stand by the mailbox cuz it's due tomorrow and i don't want to miss it.

That really doesn't make any sense, but I'd be open to anybody that had any kind of actual documentation.

okay, machine arrived today in good shape. and looking cleaner than mine, i'm ashamed to say.

powers up, allows "secret handshake", am able to hit factory reset and enter my parameters.

as per pugsy's instructions, have set it up with-

min epap of 16.4
ps of 2
max epap wide open at 25

then transferred over my comfort settings.

hope i can get to sleep with all of this excitement!!

eta: when i get three nights worth of data, will post charts for review. the format for charts from bilevel are same as for the "for her" model, right?

PS is NOT EPR.

i used to describe my breathing on the "for her" as like tiny sips of air that i could feel coming into my nose almost like a curving from the bottom of my pillow mask. with the vauto, this feeling is different. not sure how to explain. the incoming air fills my nose more. it's not to the point of a blast of air, it's just more "full" somehow.

as i suspected this is going to take me some time to get used to. i haven't gotten the rhythm of breathing down yet on this contraption. but i feel that it will come. last night, it felt like i was trying to do my inhale too quickly after my exhale, if that makes any sense.

started out side sleeping because i want to see how the machine handles it when i slip over onto my back. i'm prone to obstructives on my back and while i rarely end up on my back anymore, it DOES happen. not much to report there. at about 3:30, i slept prone. oscar shows 2 obstructive at 4:30 which i find odd.

i then slept until 7:30, which is VERY good for me. i woke up a few times during the night but it's my usual pattern. that 4 hours though is unusual. wouldn't mind seeing that again.

ahi for the night was the two obstructives which yielded 0.23. not bad but not unusual for me. i get anywhere from 0 to 0.67 or whatever. all in all, pretty good. nothing spectacular but nothing disappointing either.

we'll see what tonight brings.

Play with the trigger setting while awake sometimes to day and see if a different trigger setting matches your respiration pattern better or worse.

All told, sounds like a good night! Following Pugsy's advice could have a double benefit: just getting a little more used to your new friend, as well as trying some adjustments. I hope it goes swimmingly!

Yes, it's the opposite of EPR.

Depending on what your settings are, the pressure delivery can be different with the VAuto compared to the Autoset.

i'm taking pugsy's advice and trying different trigger settings while awake to see what might suit me better.

changed trigger and it really didn't offer much relief. i was using medium setting last night. very low doesn't seem that much better.

is there another setting i should try? i see "cycle" has some gradients to it.
