My strange AHI readings

Post by Triops » Thu Dec 30, 2021 4:01 am

I have a Devilbiss Sleepcube Auto plus DV54-UK
Which I have had for 4 years. The machine has been / maybe still is great

What’s happening is I am getting say one night in 3 with high AHI readings 27.3 other nights can be 3.0.
Tonight with the 27.3 reading I wake up with the machine giving a lot of pressure. I have to press the ramp button to get the pressure down low so I can sleep again.

My pressure ranges are 5.0 - 15cmH20

Finally lying awake before getting up for 5mins and the high pressure does not drop automatically to 5.0 the lower limit when I am awake and breathing normally. Again I have to hit the ramp button or turn it off to reset it to minimum 5.0

Anyone else experienced this?

Thanks

Can you post a couple of Oscar results here (same thread plse) so we can see what's what?

Has anything else changed lately - new meds, sleep position, temps, etc etc?

Have you checked the run hrs on the machine to be sure it isn't just time for a new one?

did you get the clinicians manual and oscar software like i suggested here?

we really need more data that the oscar software will supply in order to enable you to fix things.

good luck!

oh and could you please stay in one thread from now on? it will help folks keep track of your progress without having to skip all over the forum.

thanks!

Your machine is partially supported by Oscar, so that's definitely worth a shot. It will be important to know the components of your fluctuating AHI (obstructive apnea, central apnea, hypopnea) and to see what else is going on when you have events. Oscar is incredibly useful for that.
Oscar software is available at https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/

I’m having the same issue with my Respironics 10. Started about 3 months ago. Prior to that I was always under 5. Now I see 12, 15, 19 and an occasional 5 etc. Wakes me up feeling that the mask is going to blowoff. Have had 3 mild raspy sore throat events over the last 6 weeks.

Please read the following, particularly #3 and #4 about OSCAR. Folks can offer help if given sufficient data to analyze.

welcome to the zoo!

please feel free to start your very own thread. while your problem is similar, odds are the solution will NOT be. we will need to see all of the details your machine can provide and those details will be different from the person who started this thread.

good luck!
