Devilbiss Autoplus 2018 issue?

Post by Triops » Fri Dec 24, 2021 11:36 am

Can you help

This is a good machine and has been used regularly since sept 2018. My issue is that I sometimes wake up with the mask blowing so hard it goes past the sealing rings. It clearly ramps up the pressure but doesn’t seem to return back to an easy pressure. I end up having to switch it off and back on again.
1) Is the machine likely to be faulty? Anyone else had this issue?
2) when do these need replacing in terms of years?
3) Also if I replace with a variable pressure machine which make would you recommend?

Apologies for all the questions but I have had terrible nights sleep with this issue.

😊

welcome to the zoo!

can you tell us what your minimum and maximum settings are?

has something changed recently?

and do you know if your model has the designation of DV64 or DV54? this is important, as it will let us know if your machine is compatible with the free software, oscar. this software will give a lot of data which could be used to look further into your problem. DV64 is oscar friendly.

good luck!

I am unsure. I have accessed the deeper menus before. Will it tell me somewhere there?

Sorry for the delay but Covid-19 finally got me. Although so far symptoms mild.

well, something changed for sure. maybe it was the onset of covid?

i'm sorry but the devilbiss is fairly foreign to me. i've owned one in the past but it's put away somewhere.

i would think that the machine would say on the label which it is. now if you're referring to where the pressure settings are then, yes, it should be in the menu somewhere.

if you need more directions into the machines menus, see if the clinicians manual is here-

good luck and i hope the covid remains mild!

Ok my Devillbiss says on its label

DV54-UK-P

Upper limit 15.0 cmH20
Lower limit 5.0 cmH20

Smartflex 1
Smartflex mode ‘Full Time’
Smartflex IRnd 5
Smartflex ERnd 5

To be fair it’s behaved itself the last 2 nights

AHI 5.0 Iday
AHI 7.5 7days
AHI 5.5 30 days

The bad night AHI was 23.0
The night after it was 3.0

It just sometimes goes into full on gale mode never seeming to throttle back the pressure.

Thanks for you help

your machine IS supported by the oscar software. i had forgotten i had posted this to one of the software developers here on the forum-

https://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t180 ... l?start=90

so if you want to dig into it further, you can use that free software.

in the meantime, as they say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
