Ive been diagnosed with Severe Sleep Apnea – Advice Please

What Pugsy just said and I advised you a couple of weeks ago, Ben, although I didn't have a link to the videos. So, you have that now. I don't understand why you've taped your mouth. Are your Oscar results showing a high exhale puff index? Well, if you're doing that, you're definitely asleep!

I can't imagine how whistling might have something to do with apnea, so don't worry about that.
I think the video you want to look at is How to Review.... The flow rate for breathing while you're asleep will tend to be even; arousal breathing will tend to be messy-looking. But I have to add it is possible to breathe evenly while you're awake, so I don't know that there's a sure-fire way to tell from the flow-rate whether you were asleep.
MMcG raises an interesting point. To what extent, if any, are you aware of leaking? If you were awake the whole time for the chart you posted, you might well have notice at least those large leaks. If you didn't notice them, then you may well have been asleep.
You consistently report this sequence: (1) using the machine, you feel you were awake; (2) then you stop using it to get some sleep; but (3) you feel you didn't get any sleep after you stop. Bottom line: you feel you don't get sleep either way. My guess: you are actually sleeping at least part of the time, both with and without the machine. So why not leave the mask on? I hope you will try that.
