Final solution for sore/pain on base of the nose/columellar (proved on dreamwear full face)

Hi, my first post here.

First, sorry for my English, is not my first language.

I have seen that many people have pain and irritation at the base of the nose/columellar using different masks. I have tried lanolin and liners with good/mixed results but I preferred to find a permanent solution that does not cost as much money (liners) or involves oil next to my nostrils. I have been using CPAP for years and it has changed my life but this problem has been bothering me for a long time. The solution was very simple: With a scissors cut the piece of silicone that is on the base of the nose with two cuts. At first, I was afraid that this would generate leaks, but after several months I can confirm that this modification has not caused any leaks or cons. Everything works the same as before without the discomfort in the nose. Obviously, it is only my personal opinion and everyone is free to comment on what they want. I wanted to share it because it was a before and after in my treatment. In my case, I use the Dreamwear full face (size L).

Lerois,
Would it be possible to post a picture that shows how you trimmed the silicone. Thanks

Me too! I had the same problem. Could only use that mask for three or four nights before it made a painful cut. I still sometimes use it for a limited number of nights in a row.
