Hi guys...
Been a while since I stopped in. Take that as a good thing.
This post is sort of but not really but kinda but not related to the recall...
I finally got word of the recall yesterday. Like many of you, I wasn't told about it. I was thinking I wouldn't be affected, but it turns out I have not one but actually two of them that are. (Those being the Philips 50 and 60 models.) I also have an S9 (which I just set up a few minutes ago) and even an S8 - which must be one of the butt ugliest pieces of medical equipment ever made.
I have had this gizmo I have been using - the 60 - for six years, and my insurance gives me one at no cost every five years. I didn't bother to replace the 60 because I was happy with it. (I looked it up yesterday, 20,258 hours. I don't know how long these are supposed to last? At what point do you get a new one? How long do you go on the hours?)
However, what with the recall, it seems now is as good of a time as any to get another one. But I have no idea what's even out there. So my question is ... has anything even changed the past 6 years? Is there one that is better than the rest? Should I go with an S10 and call it a day?
I am so out of the loop...

Re: Question Regarding New Machine
ResMed Airsense 10 (or just out 11) Auto... way more popular/better than all previous machines.

When you qualify with your insurance or when it stops working but then enters the recall so you are eligible now.ThomasMcKean wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 8:01 pmI have been using - the 60 - for six years, and my insurance gives me one at no cost every five years. You will get beat to a pulp for calling it S10 in here.
Here is a recent example https://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic.php? ... 0#p1392917
but there are plenty more.
Maybe Call it A10 or Airsense 10 is even better - When I think if A10's I think of the tank killers.

But prob your best choice will be a Re$med model.
Hang on to that S8 if it still works for you. That has to be the last Re$med model designed to work on 12V DC directly. In fact you can make your own DC cable if you are so inclined rather than pay the $90 for all the newer models.ThomasMcKean wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 8:01 pmeven an S8 - which must be one of the butt ugliest pieces of medical equipment ever made.
