An automatic sales pitch from the computer inside.
Resmeds may keep running for months or more--but could get noisy, or quit suddenly.
How many run hours does it show?
Five years or so is when most insurance will let you get a replacement.
If you have decent coverage . . .
An autoset will do everything the Elite does, and more, should you need it.
Expect to wait--demand is high because of a competitor's garbage.
Avoid going down to a respironics--you will hate the noise, and more.

The run hours are in the menu area where the clock and calendar is
https://www.respshop.com/manuals/ResMed ... %20her.pdf

The message you see is a common message/alert that your machine is getting old but it doesn't mean that it is going to die tomorrow. So think of it as a reminder because that is what it is.

It will still work like it is supposed to until it doesn't. No way to know when it will stop....might be tomorrow or it might be 5 years from now...just like any other machine.

You might start doing whatever you need to do to get a new machine though. Depending on your insurance...they might buy you a new machine now or they might want to wait a bit until your machine dies.
Used to be that automatically people would get a new machine after 5 years but more and more the insurance companies are saying "only if broke beyond repair".

Medicare has that rule, too, but I told my DME that it was getting noisier,
and that was enough.
To see run hours, select "Options" from the home screen.
Scroll down to "About", then select.
"Run hours" is in the middle of the screen.

Thank you.
I was wondering how many hours would trigger the reminder.

To me it means, 'start looking for a spare machine', if you don't already have one. It doesn't mean that the machine isn't working fine.

So, that is 7 to 9 years. Get a new machine and keep this one as a backup.

This time, make sure to get a ResMed AutoSet.

I got my System One in 2011. Still going strong when I took it out of service due to the recall this year.
AirSence 10 Autoset, Dreamstation 2 backup, Swift FX, Z1 for travel.

I have that message pop up every so often. I just ignore it. The sleep clinic asked me if I wanted a new machine, and I told them I would wait until this one fails. My wife and I both have spare machines.
