Scalp issues from mask headgear

Post by slinn » Sat Aug 21, 2021 7:26 pm

I have a terrible rash and abundant dandruff on the areas covered by my headgear. I've tried Nioxin, Nizoral, Desonide, vinegar rinse, all to no avail. I think it could be fungal, as the straps hugging my scalp prevent air from reaching the skin.

My doc examined it and prescribed Clobetasol. I don't have any improvement yet, and I'd rather not use a powerful steroid. I'm otherwise happy with the fit and comfort of my mask - anyone have suggestions? I'd be grateful.

Clobetasol is a pretty strong steroid.
You might give an OTC formula a shot-- it could be enough, with less side effect.
I generally try the weak stuff first.
