Waking up with no air blowing?

Post by flaystus » Wed Aug 11, 2021 12:49 pm

I have an Resmed S9 Auto and starting last week I wake up sometimes with no air at all blowing. Been using it fine since 2014. It has a min. pressure set so as long as its on it should always be blowing and yet I wake up to nothing. No worse my sleep quality has been in the toilet.

No errors at all on the machine and if I adjust the mask and wait a few seconds it kickes in again and starts blowing air.

Is it the end of my S9 auto? It been such a work horse.

It worked for two years more than its expected life. Time to move on.

Are you using Smart Start? It will and has been known to malfunction.

I am using Smart start. I guess it won't hurt to try turning it off. Been using it for years though. I'll try tonight.

Large leaks will tend to make the machine shut off with smart start.

Thank you everyone. Turning off Smart Start got me my first decent night sleep in almost 2 weeks!

I went ahead an got a new machine, but at least now I know I can clean this one up and store it as a backup when the new one arrives (someday).
