New User: Do these data look okay?

Post by BearWithAir » Sun Jul 25, 2021 1:41 pm

Hi All- I'm new to CPAP therapy and recently switched to nasal pillows. I was wondering if anyone can comment on whether these data look okay from my sleep and if there is anything particular that I should work on improving. It looks good to me, but since I'm so new, I would love to get some experienced users' opinions.

Looks pretty darn good to me as well.
How are you sleeping and feeling?
I see no urgent need to go changing things unless you are having some sort of problem.

Thank you.

Feeling tired, but will give it some time.

Fatigue is a common complaint.
First look at sleep quality in general...do you wake up often during the night? Poor sleep quality itself leads to non restorative sleep and we feel like crap even with a nice low AHI score.
Then look at medication side effects...often fatigue is a common side effect.
Then look at general health issues...
You get the idea...lots of stuff can cause fatigue and not all are related to the airway and cpap can only fix airway issues.

Finally sometimes it just takes a lot of time for the body to heal and for us to get use to sleeping with all this stuff on our face before we can get rid of the elusive fatigue symptoms. We didn't get this way overnight but we sure want an overnight fix but it's just not in the cards. It can take weeks and months.

As Pugsy said, just hang in there. I was one of those people that did not get immediate relief. My change was gradual over a period of time. About a month or two after I started treatment, I noticed I could sit and work the crossword puzzle in the newspaper in the morning without falling asleep, and I could actually sit and watch a movie on the TV without falling asleep. I never really had a big AHA moment where I could say I suddenly feel better. My wife, on the other hand, started noticing a big improvement after the first night on two her machine. It does get better. It just takes longer for some people than it does others.

11 hours. That's a lot of time in bed. Were you lying awake much of that time? Maybe you need the catch-up sleep? Or maybe, you would feel better if you limited sleep to 8 or 9 hours? Getting too little sleep is bad, but they say we can get too much. Otherwise, your stats will be envied by many.

What meds, if any, do you take?
