Resmed 10 and SoClean Issue! See Pic!
Re: Resmed 10 and SoClean Issue! See Pic!
#1 Please ignore the snarky comments about being a SoClean user.
#2 After 5 years of using the Resmed 10 and constant sinus problems (even though I cleaned it DILIGENTLY), I purchased a SoClean machine. The sinus problems disappeared. I've only had the SoClean for 18 months, but suddenly this week I'm seeing bits of filter floating in my water chamber. Clearly I have the same problem as you. I'm not sure how to solve this because I don't want to destroy my machine by disassembling it. I'm going to follow up with ResMed regarding the warranty. I will let you know if I have any success.

How noisy is your Resmed after removing the foam?

I removed the foam from my ResMed AirSense 10 and have been using it without any issue. No difference in pressure or AHI compared to using the machine with the foam. That’s been my experience.
Coffee Man: how was the noise level after you removed the foam from your AirSense 10? Is it loud enough to disturb your sleep?

You need to follow up with SoClean before they file bankruptcy. --------->lankster wrote: ↑Mon Jul 19, 2021 12:56 pm#1 Please ignore the snarky comments about being a SoClean user.

Go look in the mirror--if it says "SUCKER" on your forehead, be careful sitting down.

If the SoClean can break down the foam in a Resmed, so to can the ozone that exists in the air around us cause degradation of the foam, just at a less accelerated rate than what the SoClean is capable of. Larger cities may be more prone to having higher concentrations of ozone due to the pollutants that produce it. Perhaps if you have breathing problems, you may have an 'air purifier' in your home that not only filters out junk in the air, but uses ozone to kill those pesky bad germs and marketed with some techno-fancy name that doesn't hint to be an ozone generator which as well releases ozone into the room air.

If car exhaust can poison people, so to can the carbon monoxide that exists in the air around us, just at a less accelerated rate than what car exhaust is capable of.

There is *exceedingly* little ozone in the air around us. it very rapidly reacts and breaks down.
nothing compared to using an ozone generator on a cpap.
Don't be stupid.

Didn't read the link in my post? Don't be stupid, educate yourself and show some forum manners when speaking to people. Comments like yours are grade school level and degrade the intent of this forum.

Ozone in the air isn't going to do any thing to the foam in Resmed machines as it's not concentrated enough. And I live in DFW and we have some serious air pollution.Grumpy48 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 17, 2021 4:30 pmIf the SoClean can break down the foam in a Resmed, so to can the ozone that exists in the air around us cause degradation of the foam, just at a less accelerated rate than what the SoClean is capable of. I have a Resmed 9 that has over 30, 000 hours on it and the foam is as good as the day they installed it.
