Hose/Mask Connection

Post by Sunnyd100 » Sat Jul 10, 2021 11:35 am

Hi everyone,

New poster here. I am having some difficulty with my mask/hose connection. I have a new hose, and it seems like it fits very, very tight onto the mask. I have attached a picture. This is with me shoving it on with a fair amount of force.

I’m not exactly sure how to describe it, but typically my hoses attach much more easily and I have to use much less force. Does this seem like an issue, do I need a different hose, or is this fairly typical?

Thank you in advance.

Looks like you have something hooked up wrong. Which model mask is that?

The mask is an F&P Simplus.

I don’t have that mask but was curious - the manual is here:

https://resources.fphcare.com/content/s ... 047915.pdf

And it references a swivel piece (piece F in the diagram). Do you have that connected or are you pushing the hose connection directly into the mask skipping that piece?

Thank you for your responses.

Piece F is on there, it is that grey piece. As far as the actual unit, it is a Resmed Airsense 10.

I don't really think it is a problem. normal manufacturing tolerances may make some masks harder to connect to the hose. The rubber end of the hose will stretch slightly with use, and become easier to connect and disconnect the mask.
