ResMed AirFit N30 Nasal CPAP Mask

Post by ILoveFlowers » Sun Jul 04, 2021 2:49 pm

The AirFit N30 mask looks interesting to me but I can't find much about it. Is there anyone here who has tried it and would like to give the pros and cons they found with it? Does it fit the nose with less leaks than the P10? Is it comfortable? Is it quiet?

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... h-headgear

83 reviews

https://www.cpap.com/productpage/resmed ... er-reviews

cpap.com...all reviews are real purchasers...can't do a review unless you have bought the mask from them.

Overall more positives than negatives...and some forum members will likely stop by with their own personal experience.
I have never even seen one much less used one so I am zero help.
If I wasn't using the Bleep...might want to test it out. It does look like a P10 sort of but without the inner cones.
It is interesting looking for sure but not enough for me to spend hard money on it right now since I am so happy with the Bleep.

I've used it for 4.5 years, and its my favorite. Its easy to clean, easy to take off and put back on the head gear.

Of course I'm a nose only breather, and also sleep on my back. (I've tried other positions, but no luck)
If you're similar to me, then you will love it.

I have trouble viewing the reviews on cpap.com. I can see 6 reviews -2 columns with 3 each- but the bottom ones are cut off and I don't see a way to read through all the rest. I've looked at it in firefox and edge and shut off my ad-blocker in case it was blocking something. I'm probably missing some obvious button I need to click on or something.

Well darn it....I never realized that limitation and I just now checked and I can only see 6 as well with no obvious way to see "more reviews" like I have seen at other website reviews.
Give me a bit and let me see if I can figure out something or find you at least more reviews somewhere else...
or maybe someone here knows of how to expand the review list at cpap.com because I don't see a way either.
They are quick to want you to compare with other masks but sure don't make it easy to see more reviews.

Well crap...even the P10 which has over 1200 reviews is limited but not so much...there's a link to show "14 more reviews" after the 1st page of 6 reviews and then once you click on that link you don't get a link for anymore reviews.
I had no idea that this was happening and when I go to other online sellers of these masks...reviews are extremely limited as well.

Hey Chicago Granny...you often tell people to go to cpap.com and check out the reviews....did you know that people can't really see very many reviews or is there a special trick to get to the other reviews???

The N30i has been getting caught up in my hair/pillow. Thinking of trying the N30. Are the cushions the same size? I noticed where I normally order only has the N30 in small, small wide, and medium. I'm currently using a medium with the N30i.

This looks like a layout problem on the cpap.com web site. The information is there but is not being displayed properly. You can try this as a temporary workaround:

1. Go to the Customer Reviews tab of the cpap.com page for the product of interest. You should see two columns of reviews, probably six total (if you don't see two columns, try making your browser window wider).

2. Open your browser's Javascript console. Instructions to do that for different browsers can be found here.

3. Copy and paste these two lines into the Javascript console and then press the Enter key:

Code: Select all

Array.from(document.querySelectorAll('._4KXv')).forEach(elem => elem.classList.remove('_4KXv'));
Array.from(document.querySelectorAll('.wG0d')).forEach(elem => elem.classList.remove('wG0d'));
4. You can now dismiss the Javascript console if you want.

If this works then you should now be able to click the "Show XX More Reviews" link and actually be able to see them (I tried it on Chrome and Safari). This will probably only work until the next time cpap.com rebuilds their site - hopefully they can fix the bug before that.

Way over my head in work to do to fix the issue and I don't really need or want to see the reviews myself....it's other people that are having problems like the OP in this thread that it is more important that they be able to see the reviews if they want to.
Most people reading this probably are thinking "what the hell is Java"

I will alert the owners of the forum and see if they can get their IT guys on it. I don't do software or coding or stuff like that.
We have some other things that are broken as well....like the Profile equipment thing that hasn't been fixed yet.

I never noticed that before because the overall score is what I would go by. Every mask on the site has reviewers saying it is a sorry-ass mask and reviewers saying it is an "amazing" mask. It's rare that reviewers give solid tips that would help someone else decide.

Look at the overall score. Reading a bunch of reviews is likely to plant some misimpressions.

I rarely recommend any of the masks I like and use because ... YMMV.

   How true. Either that or they just don't really read any posts/threads.
My pet peeve....someone coming to a thread and asking the same question and obviously not reading the thread because the answer to the question was already posted.

And yes I know there are always negative reviews in pretty much everything out there. Can't please everyone.
Heck, there are masks out there that I have hated when I tried them but I didn't give it a bad review because of the YMMV thing.
Just because I hate something doesn't mean the next person will feel the same way.

I have always said that if a mask looks interesting to a person then they should try it if they can. We always learn something with a mask experiment. Now sometimes all we learn is what a bad idea that mask was but sometimes we learn it's a darn good mask.
Always learn something and sometimes we learn more about what our individual preferences are which will help us in the future to determine if a mask looks interesting or not. Like years ago I learned that I just don't want anything touching my nasal bridge area so any mask that does....isn't interesting to me so I won't even consider it. Just don't want to...and want to or not want to is a good enough reason to try or not try something in my book.

My impression from reading the reviews is that it really hinges on getting the right size so it seals properly. Some people were not able to get a good fit with any of the sizes, probably has to do with the shape of one's nose. Also people using higher pressures seem to have more complaints. It seems worth a try but ordering the correct size seems like a little bit of a challenge, I'm printing out the sizing guide and trying to make sure it's printing at the actual size right now. But, yeah, you never know until you try it yourself!

I've been using the N30 for a month. My head is kind of small, my face is narrow and my nose is also narrow and a little pointy. My fit is a small and the small wide fits but leaks more.

I'm a side sleeper and find every mask leaks to some degree, though this one a bit less. It is a little noisy and more leaky when my pressure is up at 11 or 12. The headgear moves around if the straps are too loose, but it's easy to adjust. I put one step low on the back of my head and the other straight up. Sometimes they do slip.

I settled on this mask after trying 5 others, if that is any indication of its comfort. I wipe it with baby wipes every morning and change the cushion every 2 weeks. It gets really leaky when it's time to change.

I'll keep wearing this mask unless my doctor is too upset with the leaks. My AHI has never risen above 1.4 in this mask. I hope this helps someone.
:)
