OT - Private Messages stuck in Outbox & not sending - Help

I have tried to send two PMs this afternoon and they are both still sitting in the Outbox after a 2-3 hours. Is there something I can do to get them to send? I do not see a resend option.

They are not "stuck in the Outbox".

Messages remain in the outbox until they are read by the recipient. As soon as they are read, they will be placed into your "Sent messages".

Thanks for the reply but that's not very intuitive. Siting in Outbox would imply it has not been sent. But it is what it is.

Don't worry...I've had to reach out to Pugsy's a couple of times to ask the same question cuz I forgot!!

The silver lining around this dark cloud of the message sitting in the Outbox is that you'll know...as long as it's in the Outbox, your PM has not yet been read by the receipent. And when it's no longer in the Outbox, it's been read! Consider it a backdoor "Read-Receipt"!

It is indeed a back door nugget so we know if the person we sent the note to has read our PM and just ignored it...or never read it.
It's quite common on other forums that I am a member that the same outbox technology presents itself.
It is also the only time we can change our mind and "unsend" a message if we decide we want to either edit the message or just totally unsend it. While in the outbox it can be deleted from the recipients inbox up until they have opened it. Once someone opens the message and it moves to the "sent" box on our end..we can't unsend it or edit it or do anything with it.

I have seen PMs sit in my outbox for 2 or 3 months...usually they were a reply to a private question so I never fully understood why if someone asks me a question they don't come back to see the answer but heck...maybe their computer up and died or something.
Anyway...my general rule is stuff that is over 60 days in the outbox just gets deleted as a house cleaning measure.
I have had on occasion got a note from someone "why did you delete your message to me"...and I respond because you never opened it so I figured you didn't need the answer anymore...and that usually shuts them up.
When someone asks me a question and I take the time and make the effort to respond....I get rather pissed if they don't bother to read my response but yet they bitch about my deleting it. Too bad..so sad.

Is there anyway to put some type of notice a reminder in the private messages section to remind us of this set up? Especially for people like me you can’t remember what he had for lunch today.
