Resmed Airsense 10 help
Good morning group! I haven't posted on here in years, cpap therapy has been going good! UNTIL the dreamstation recall!
I bought a new resmed airsense 10 auto from sleepdirect.com, I have had it about a week now, sleeping like crap and feeling like crap.
I originally set it to the same settings as my dreamstation, 9 low and 12 high set on auto. first night I wake up with the mask farting on my face, air blowing out like crazy, tear the mask off and go back to sleep. tried on night 2-3 and same thing.
Then I lowered the high down to 11 and same thing. Last night I woke up with the same thing, but I was lucid enough to lay there and I pushed the button on the machine and sure enough it was staying at 11, even awake and breathing normal it wasnt going down at all.
My dreamstation did not do this, when I pulled my reports, the pressure would usually never go over 10 and if it did it was only a few times a night, this resmed seems to go to the high limit and stay there, even when I am awake.
I dont have the ramp feature turned on either, so I watched the machine as I turned it on last night and it went right to the minimum pressure like it should, but it seems once it detected events it shot up to the max and stayed there
do I have a bad machine? or is this normal?
thanks!

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 help
Which button did you push? The round knob to light up the display? Or the On/Off button?
The ResMed algorithm is known to respond more aggressively than Philips to airway problems. It wouldn't be surprising to see it running one centimeter higher. The pressure will not drop quickly to the minimum upon awakening. It could take several minutes.
Most of us would feel like crap if we didn't use CPAP for as little as a partial night.tiredNorlando wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 4:20 amsleeping like crap and feeling like crap. ... tear the mask off and go back to sleep. tried on night 2-3 and same thing.
It sounds like you need some mask adjustment to prevent the leaks. Are you an OSCAR user?

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 help
I pushed the button in the middle of the dial on the front. I was actually wide awake this time, usually I just wake up enough to throw the mask and fall backasleep.
my plan was to drop my high limit down another centimeter tonight and try that.
I have a f30 mask, I didnt have a leak issue with the dreamstation, but with this new resmed machine it is leaking like crazy.
no on the oscar, I didnt really have any issues with my dreamstation, I had sleepyhead before but need to download oscar for sure
I dont remember how to post quotes from another comment lol
thanks

Re: Resmed Airsense 10 help
In the Clinical Menu:
Response
Set to Soft from Standard
That will make the machine less aggressive in responding to SWJ/ OA events.
I have been using it for over a year to good effect.
YMMV
Worth a try.

Thanks! I've been wondering how you do that, too. I've been playing with deleting the stuff I don't want to quote, but invariably get lost in the nested quotes, so it never looks right.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 11:17 amTo Partial Quote
