Sounds like a monkey trying to titrate a PAP box

If your dentist didn't actually titrate your dental device, then you indeed
got ripped off. Just imagine if my Doctor gave me a CPAP set at
4 and made me visit him for 3 weeks in a row, each time increasing
the pressure by 1 point. Finally he declares I am all set! Sounds
to me like CPAP doesn't work and I lost a bunch of money. For a
dental device to work someone needs to measure something just
like in a real sleep study to see how it needs to be adjusted. You
can't go by non-quantitative things like "My wife says I have stopped
snoring". At least you should use a recording Oximeter and demonstrate
that you are keeping your Oxygen levels up. If you still have symptoms
you need more adjustment. I used a PB420e with a pressure of 4
and a recording Oximeter to titrate myself. I could clearly see that
at different settings of my Dental Device, I could reproduce different
AHI values. It helpds to have something like the TAP, which can be
reproducibly set. With my SilentNite device, I only had three settings.
I actually got my lowest AHI values with a TAP which could adjust
beyond the range of the SilentNite. I was also extremely fortunate
to have a wonderful dentist who wanted to see recorded data! Moreover
he found ways to charge me only $200 for the SilentNite and $320
for the TAP.
