I once had a dark spot on the inside of a hose.
I tried, but could not clean it off.
So I replaced the hose.
As a consequence, I have a new, sealed hose standing by, just in case.
I believe that hose is about 3 years old, or so.
Apparently, the issue is unusual, bordering on rare.
