dent in scalp from headgear

Post by kibitzer » Thu May 27, 2021 1:10 pm

I use the Amara View and the pressure of the headgear on the top of my head is uncomfortable. I've created padding for everywhere else on the headgear. Has anyone tried using a pad made for the strap of a camera bag, etc.? something with padding or gel foam? No one sees the dent but it get a slight headache from the pressure. I have to have the headgear tight to avoid leaking. I am finally getting good numbers. :?

BUT, you shouldn't have the gear too tight to avoid leaks, much better to either readjust (see U Tube videos on how to) to use a different mask (or headgear). Overtightening can cause problems when the mask can't inflate properly.

I use bubble wrap. Easy. Cheap, Works between the N30 headgear retaining clip and my scalp.

Mask fit videos.
Watch some.
If it hurts, it is either the wrong mask or you're doing it wrong.
Some people have cushy, sensitive scalps--if that's you, be nice to it.

I put masking tape around the clip on the strap that is on top of my head. If I don't I will get a sore from it. I sleep on my left side so it puts pressure there.

Anything soft--hobby craft foam, kleenex, mini pads.
Yes, even mini pads--nobody will see!
