Yet Another Newbie Question..

Post by mvosborn » Tue May 04, 2021 12:01 pm

Good Morning!
So another different type of question, and please let me know if this is frowned upon.....

So knowing this site is associated with Cpap.com, and having now learned that said site sells all sorts of CPAP equipment.......

Is mentioning other websites that may carry equipment for sale, that MAY offer savings to users;

A. Forbidden
B. Allowed but frowned upon
C. Generally considered poor site manners
D. Allowed with no issues

Only asking because I occasionally find excellent deals on equipment that may help members financially......

Thanks,
Mike

How about free return insurance on mask sales?
I think that is awesome, and I even used it before it was free.
Note: they often run sales--though their regular prices beat the cr@p out of local places,
Especially the big chains that seem to make it a point to fill every order incorrectly.

Sales on demos of products??? No, cpap.com doesn't sell used products. If it has been opened and touched by human hands it is considered "used" and legally they can't sell used products.
Actually even brick and mortar DMEs aren't allowed to sell "demos" either. They can give them away but they can't sell them...this is what my DME told me when I went to get a new mask and the only one they had was an opened package but never "used" technically.
I offered to sign the paperwork to have my insurance pay for it and I was told that it was against the law to sell a mask that wasn't opened by the patient at the time they received it. They did give it to me for free though.

Now there are some places where people can get a gently used mask at a reduced cost but inventory is limited and no return insurance either. I know of one...a guy who runs a sleep lab and sells the opened masks (like people try on for size) but don't end up using it during the sleep study. If you want the name of that place send me a private message.

Ok, so I think I have indirectly received the answer to my original question. Thank you all for that...
For the life of me, I could not figure out why the subject of guaranteed return insurance came up twice in replies. And then, suddenly, I woke up! No pun intended. I am not using insurance to purchase my equipment, and as such, I do not return anything.....Now I get it.
And for sake of clarity, I would never buy a used machine. I outright purchased my machine and associated equipment brand new.

The demo product I was asking about, that I have purchased twice, are masks. Both times, the items I purchased, (Nuance Pro) have been in factory packaging with brand new factory pillows, hose, Velcro, etc. If these were anything, they were probably shelf stock, whatever. I cannot pass up 19 bucks, no tax, free shipping.

Thanks again for replying!!
Mike
