My wife's water chamber is at the maximum water level when she goes to bed. Sometimes, in the morning it will be empty or nearly empty. She usually sleeps for about 10 hours.
The humidity is on auto. I did have it on 4 previously. Anything to be concerned about? When it is dry before she gets up does that matter? The temp in the house for sleeping is around 68.

Nothing to be concerned about. I have this happen almost every night.
The worst thing is if it actually runs dry and is dry for very long it stinks to high heaven but that's it.
Auto setting for humidity is roughly about what the setting of 4 is when on manual.

Water consumption depends mainly on the ambient humidity in the bedroom...how long someone is using the machine...and the setting of course.
If she was actually running out of water often we might consider either decreasing the humidity level a bit or adding moisture to the ambient bedroom humidity via some sort of humidifier.

There is the humidifier expansion option if you don't mind or are into DIY.

There is the additional advantange of being able to increase the humidity level if needed.

Do it on a backup tank just in case.

Opinions please on using a regular filter vs. a hypoallergenic filter.
Yes, I did check older posts, however, wanted some up-to-date information.

My wife has been having a clogged nose lately and I thought maybe to try the hypo filters for her Resmed 10.
Also, she has the Philips Dreamwear nasal cushion mask. I saw Jason demonstrating the full face mask on YouTube.
He said if you have the nasal cushion mask it might be a simple fix to add the full face mask part and the neck strap.
Please inform me how to go about doing that for my wife.
Thanks ahead of time for all the great input. Michele really needs to breathe better due to congestion so I would like to get something fast.
Not sure if Medicare will pay for a full face mask though she is due for replacement so maybe I need to check with the DME.

Hello CPAPers!

Just wanted to have you take a look at my wife's two nights. One was on April 1 using her normal For Her mode and the other on April 2 using the APAP mode.
She normally sleeps through all kinds of leaks and "noises" whereas I can hear them.
She has been using the For Her mode since she started CPAP therapy a little over a year ago. I had only changed it for two nights to APAP to see if there would be a difference.
She normally has hugged around 13 for pressure with the For Her mode. Is there any reason to change from the For Her mode to the APAP mode?
I thought I had been reading it might be better to stick with the APAP mode. True, false, anywhere in between?

P.S. not sure why the attachments did not attach. They have in the past. I see this message: Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached.

Go to your User Control Panel and the manage attachments section and manually remove the older previous reports.
They aren't needed anymore.

Then see if you have freed up enough space to attach a couple more new reports.

As for the filter choice....try the hypoallergenic filter. That's what I use all the time and I don't really have nasal congestion issues. I just like knowing there's a little bit of extra filtration.
Be warned though...they will start looking rather dirty sooner than the regular filters.
This filter thing is another one of the many YMMV things.

As for which mode...not really all that much difference in either mode. The pressure is a bit more stable in the for Her mode and that is something that maybe might affect things but I bet if you ask her she won't notice any difference over all.
FWIW....I have used both the for Her mode and the regular mode and got similar results and I couldn't put a finger on one of them being "better" than the other.
The for Her mode will tend to make the FL graph look a bit uglier but that's because the algorithm is specifically hunting more FLs.
Most of the time people can use both modes with equal success....the exception being a few rare people who need more pressure than the for Her mode wants to give. Usually we see this when the minimum pressures are up around 12 or more.
I think I can count on one hand the number of people who the for Her mode wasn't a good choice due to the way it responds to things.

Thank you, Pugsy, for the complete answers and information. You are correct. She did not notice any difference in either mode. She seems a happy camper using her CPAP although there are plenty of leaks I am sure. She sleeps through the night most nights and has had no trouble adjusting to the use of the nasal cushion and the Dreamwear headgear.

I read of people complaining all the time about how hard it is to adjust. Michele adjusted so easily and quickly it was a blessing. She did not go into the CPAP use and testing without a "fight", however, she would certainly tell anyone to get tested and if needed to use the CPAP equipment and help your life and health. It is just a normal part of her routine now.

P.S. She is doing very well with her cancer treatment for Stage 4 colon cancer. A second opinion from Johns Hopkins last May resulted in stopping the chemo maintenance which the original oncologist said she would be on until it stopped working. She has more energy thanks to no chemo and the use of CPAP. God is good! Each day is a victory. Keep pressing on whether it be for CPAP use of any other part of life that needs perseverance.
