Severe dry mouth using new CPAP machine Help !!

Post by richiesgr » Tue Mar 16, 2021 10:32 am

Hi
I'm confronted to a strange problem (I cannot find a logical explanation).
I've used Resmed s8 for 7 years with swift FX mask no dry mouth problem never.
Then I switched to resmed Airsense 10 with same mask and no matter what setting (pressure, EPR, humification level, same as S8) I'm now confronted to severe dry mouth it's awake me at 4-5 in the night and the mouth is so dry that I need to drink a lot of water. I've also have an heated tube.
When I switch back to the S8 no problem at all.
So why switching if S8 is good mainly because of the sound level that have increased with the time.

So of course I think the dryness is caused by my mouth being open but why only with this machine not the other !?!?! :?:

Thanks for any idea

Maybe the new heated hose is more efficient - try turning it down or even off.

What is your humidity setting on each machine?

Hi
It's set manually at 5/8 higher than that build to much humidity in the tube.
The tank is half empty at the end of the night so the heater is working as expected.
Just a supposition for the expert forum : Is it possible the machine have a defect that doesn't keep the pressure in the define range 10-15 (just a theory)
Thanks

I had same issue, severe dry mouth. Talk to sleep tech, she states my hose temp were to high, reduced to 70 from 82. Humidity dropped to 3 from 8, resolved.
