Unscented baby wipes still have a light scent?

Post by cyberdreamer » Mon Mar 08, 2021 8:52 pm

I bought a pack of Johnson's unscented no-alcohol newborn baby wipes to remove skin oils from my mask when I wake up during the night and have some leaks. However, I do smell a very light scent in the wipes

Are all baby wipes like this? Is breathing any of this bad? Is it as effective as washing the mask cushion with dish soap in the morning for skin oil removal?

Btw, will removing the Resmed F30 cushion every morning to clean it with water and a drop of neutral dish soap going to reduce its lifespan?

Thanks in advance!

Here's a suggestion....Wipe off your mask in the morning when you get up...any smell should be gone by bedtime.

No, but wiping with alcohol is.

i lost my sense of smell about 10 years ago. i use them and smell nothing. my wife said baby wipes all have a smell of sorts but they are not perfume scented. when you think about it, nearly everything has some kind of scent or smell

I noticed that some brands do have a light scent, but the Little Journeys fragrance free from Aldi
does not have enough to smell anything but barely "clean-ish".

Yup. If you look at the ingredients for unscented products, they often contain "fragrance". WTF???

I can't deal with any of that, fragrances really trigger my asthma. For my CPAP supplies I use 7th generation dish soap--it's truly unscented.

Read the label on any product.
If any ingredient is a mystery, pull out your smart phone and look it up.
This is a good idea, no matter what you are shopping for.
I do it all the time.
I am not a genius, but Google helps me fake it.

Lots of product labeled "unscented" actually have fragrance added. Mostly when they say "fragrance free" they are okay. I think it is deceptive, but this happens a lot. I have ultra sensitive skin: This is why I am aware of this dirty little marketing secret.

I use CPAP mask wipes. I look for the best deal on Amazon. They do not have fragrance. They are safe for the silicone and my face.
