Several nights ago, I woke up, while adjusting my mask, I noticed how slippery the mask was on my face surface. I clean mask cushion, washed my face, went back to sleep, no wake up. Next night, I awoke sweaty, alot of sweat on my pillow, same cleaning process. I turn on my ceiling fan, all was well. Each night now, I take time to clean mask cushion, before I would just quickly wipe mask/cushion. I wash my face surface throughly, not just wiping face with wet towel before bed

Not really a question, just desired to share, I've discovered my leak issue with Resmed Airtouch. Finally resolved !!!!! 0 AHI past 2 days. What I've discovered is, during sleep I have a tendency to sweat or my face get's oily, I'll wake up, adjust my mask go back to sleep, another 2-3 hours, I wake up adjust mask. Tighten straps.

I leave ceiling fan on, regardless of indoor temps. I'm able to loosen straps. No more mask leaks. Never realized slippery face surface would cause massive leaks, I thought it was the straps, this or that. Hope my discovery will help others.

Re: Slippery sweaty/oil face surface - Just sharing
Try a mask liner to absorb those facial oils and the sweat and maybe let you sleep all night and not have leaks waking you up.
https://www.padacheek.com/mask-liners-full-face
Store bought or you can make your own out of an old Tshirt if you happen to be handy.
Plus the sweat and facial oils will accelerate the breakdown of the AirTouch memory foam cushion and it won't last as long....so keeping the oil and sweat off reduces cleaning which prolongs the life of the cushion.

A mask liner will also exrend the life of the memory foam--which expires way too soon.

I'm having the exact issue. Even though I clean my mask cushion (F30 now) with neutral dishwasher every morning and clean my face before lying down, after 4 - 6 hours, my face feels oily where the mask touches and I begin to have some annoying eye leaks when I move.Architect wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 7:34 pmNot really a question, just desired to share, I've discovered my leak issue with Resmed Airtouch. Would using baby wipes when I wake up during the night work? Are you using special soap? The padacheek liners are expensive for me (Brazil) and would take a long time to get here.

Thanks for sharing this, Architect -- very interesting and useful.
To keep my bleep mask stuck on, I wipe my skin first with alcohol preps, which can be found in the diabetes supply section of the pharmacy. Recently I've also wiped around my mouth before applying tape, which seems to help it stay stuck.

I use baby wipes to claen my mask cushion, I use Ivory soap to wash my face. I tried baby wipes on my face, didn't work to well.cyberdreamer wrote: ↑Tue Feb 23, 2021 4:16 pmI'm having the exact issue. If you use the “disposable” liners that come in a 30 pack, you can wash these and use again. They are just tee shirt material. I wash these is a mesh laundry bag and put on a towel to dry. I need a fresh one every night as my skin gets oily.

Re: Slippery sweaty/oil face surface - Just sharing
I purchased Silent night liners, thus far after one night use, mask is not sliding all over my face and leaks, liners have adhesive strips, that are mildly difficult to remove. I put the liner on slightly incorrect, was finally able to get adhesive off to readjust.
Believe over time, facial oil penetrates Airtouch F20 mask cushion, creating a build up. I didn't have any issue the first week using, afterwards mask sliding became worse, did everything I could to clean cushion, without tossing in the washer with soap.
Thanks to those suggesting mask liner
