Wow! I have been on a fixed pressure 17 since 2001. My Doctors never mention anything about the new innovations in cpap. I never new APAP existed until 5 hours ago. I ordered a Airsense 10 autoset it will be here monday. Thank you! I have learned more about sleep apnea in 5 hours here then from my doctors in 20 years. I'm doing fine now with a fixed S9 and S8 with no humid...doctors felt it wasnt needed.... But I want to do better then just okay. Cant wait to see my sleep reports and improve my sleep. Thank you agian, you all are doing a great service to humanity. :D

I wonder if any other medical specialties are as bad off as sleep apnea healthcare? Docs know the theory but nothing of the mechanics. DME's know how to maximize their insurance payments but nothing about machines or masks. The techs who do the sleep studies probably know the most about applying the equipment to our faces, but the real experts are right here.

How did "compliance" become the most important metric?

Unfortunately, the sleep biz is all about money.
I'll give you an example....

It's a way for the insurance and the DME recover the money = IF you aren't gonna use it they don't want to pay for it. The DME gets it back then sells it to the next unsuspecting noobie for the price of a new one.

It's ALL about money. Don't let them tell you any diff.
