Interestingly, CRAO is relatively rare (only one in 10,000-100,000 patients),
and HBOT is generally used for wound/burn care, as well as diving accidents.
Even on the web, I found at least a couple places that state there is no cure or treatment
for central retinal artery occlusion--this is simply incorrect!
The bullfrog's case is proof that at least some sight can be saved.
In his case the recovery is significant.
Spread the word, folks!
There has even been work done to help with AMD--so, there Is HOPE!

Yikes, what a scary thing!

Glad the hyperbaric O2 worked. It can be a miracle. I had a client who developed osteomyelitis of the jaw after botched dental work and it was the only thing that helped.

Your next adventure will be fighting with Medicare. It's really hard to get Medicare to cover it unless you have one of a list of specific conditions:
https://www.medicare.gov/coverage/hyper ... en-therapy My client above never did get Medicare to cover her treatment.
The masked angels at the hospital said they would submit it to Medicare;
and "not to worry about it". CRAO is fairly rare, so likely no one knew otherwise.
----Medicare is covering everything but the hyperbaric oxygen.
Since we were not informed of Medicare non-coverage, we cannot be charged.

Yay! Unfortunately, they gave my client an ABN while swearing up and down it would get covered. NOPE.

Yep! That damn ABN.
The bullfrog had an emergency, so all his paperwork was skipped until after treatment had started.
The hospital is a teaching hospital, so education is their primary objective.
