I wore it 12 hours with minimal problems. I need to get the SD card and Oscar - the ‘MyAir’ app kind of sucks - but according to the machine, I went from 20 to 2!

A bit of rainout, because our bedroom was chilly. Need to raise hose temperature. I was aware of the mask and aware of the pressure ramping up, but it didn’t really bother me. If this continues, I think I’ll get used to it pretty easily.

The weirdest thing I noticed was how drowsy I was when I woke up this morning. I usually wake up at 5:30 exhausted-but-wired and usually can’t go back to sleep. This morning I was so drowsy! I kept dozing off again. I finally got up at 7. This is... different.

So far, it’s great. I’ll post Oscar when I get my SD card.

😴😴😴😴😴

Fantastic news -- congratulations! You may spend some time repaying your sleep debt. It will be wonderful when you feel completely rested and ready to go after 7-9 hours.

Hi all, it’s Laura Elizabeth from a new login. I somehow managed to inactivate my original login while trying to add an email address. I’ll be using LauraE from now on.

Okay... my third night and I LOVE MY ‘RESMED AIRSENSE AUTOSET FOR HER’ WITH ALL MY ❤️❤️❤️❤️.

I fell asleep at 9 last night and woke up after about five hours from the deepest natural slumber I’ve had in ages. I didn’t know where I was! I read for a bit, then went back to sleep, got a couple more cycles in, and decided at 6:30 to get up for coffee.

I’m not waking up feeling anxious or stressed. I’m starting to think that my midnight anxiety insomnia was more SDB-driven than work-related.

My AHI is hovering around 1.0-2.0. I ordered an SD card - when it’s here, I’ll do Oscar and post my graphs so you can help me tune my settings.

Also I had a check-in with my ‘sleep coach,’ Daniel. He’s an RT from Lofta. He said my low leaks and AHI put me a month ahead of most newbies. I told him I’d been studying your collective experience!

I cannot express how grateful and happy I am to have the support of others who’ve gone through this. I feel hopeful about my well-being for the first time in years. This is amazing.

you are well ahead of the curve. you are also a great example of "your mileage may vary".

post them charts, but i'm uncertain what we can do for you, other than give you encouragement.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Some lucky people take to this therapy like a duck to water. Looks like you are one of those people. Good job.

Yeah, I feel very fortunate. I was expecting this to be a difficult experience, but it’s been remarkably easy. Duck to water.

Update:

After four nights on APAP I’m adjusting beautifully, sleeping 8-9 hours a night, waking up and not quite knowing where I am. I feel like it’s good sleep.

Now that I’m getting sleep, good grief... I’m so sleepy! I’ve gone from being wired-and-tired to slothfully groggy. I feel like I could hibernate with my APAP for a month.

ETA: Not taking sedating medications. I take iron, vitamin D, and calcium; I use Symbicort (asthma inhaler), & take non-sedating antihistamine in the morning along with my nasal antihistamine (Azelastine); also Flonase in the evening.

1. Do any of you remember experiencing profound sleepiness when starting xPAP?

2. I’m thinking of requesting FMLA to cut my work hours for a few weeks. I’m iron deficient, dx’d with mild anemia. But mostly I want to be able to sleep until I am ready to wake up. Is that unreasonable?

Thanks for sharing your experience.
