My machine isn't recording correct data
Hi, Everyone.
I have been on cpap therapy one year now. A problem has developed with my machine. I use a Resmed Autosense 10. I bought it used from a gal who only used it for a couple of weeks. After waking up, the machine says it's only been on for a few minutes. Now, I know it's been on all night. I don't go to bed without it. I quit taking the mask off during sleep a long time ago. So, I know that's not happening. I checked the SD card in OSCAR, it too says the machine was on only for a few minutes. This happens two or three times a week. I have the SmartStart on. Could it be my mask? I use a Dreamwear FF mask. Any thoughts? I don't have a DME, since I bought the machine myself. At this time, we can't afford a new machine, can't afford another sleep test, either, even with insurance.

Re: My machine isn't recording correct data
Are you checking it after noon? Try doing so before because some some machine clocks start over then.
Re: My machine isn't recording correct data
Please post a couple of detailed reports from OSCAR from the 2 or 3 times a week that this happened.
If you are sleeping past noon per the clock on the machine it will show only the use past 12 noon.
Is your clock on your machine set to your local time?
Are you ever sleeping past 12 noon?

Re: My machine isn't recording correct data
Ok. Thanks for replying. I don't sleep past noon. Pugsy, I will get my husband to make some screenshots of those times it happened. The last time I checked my SD card, it was ahead a couple of days.

Re: My machine isn't recording correct data
You got the machine used.
Did you erase any prior user data before you used it?
Did you make sure the date and clock were set correctly?
How long have you had this machine?

Re: My machine isn't recording correct data
It's not how long you sleep but what time you check results.

Re: My machine isn't recording correct data
Hi.
Here's what we've done so far: to get my machine on the right date and time, we went into the clinical menu, clicked "Erase data", then we were able to set it to the current date and time. Do these machines have their own internal data records? I didn't have my SD card in the machine when I did this. For whatever reason the SD card had stopped collecting data-my husband checked the card and there was still room on the card. Don't know. .
Here are two screenshots of those times when the machine said it was only on for a few minutes.

Re: My machine isn't recording correct data
When you erased the data from the machine you erased all of the past data so we can't see those reports at all.
If your SD card was in the machine when you did that...I think the old files also got erased from the SD card as well.
So now we have to start new. See what it shows tomorrow morning after tonight's use...make sure SD card is in the machine all night.
If you haven't recently unplugged the machine from the wall outlet...do that tonight before bedtime. Leave it unplugged for about a minute and then plug it back in. This will force the internal software in the machine to reboot. Sometimes that fixes problems and it doesn't hurt to try.
