It is suspected that the new variants develop in those long haul patients
because many generations give the virus time to mutate.

Myself, my hubby and my mom got the 2nd dose of Moderna this afternoon. Nothing exciting to report yet. Slight sore arm that I had with the first one and that's it so far.

Hope you are doing ok? 1 week and two days and am finally starting to feel almost normal. Still exhausted. (Partially blame 50 hour work weeks for that) But stomach issues are calming down. Temp didn't go up last night so crossing fingers the worst is over.

I got the second dose of Moderna, and it hit me a bit today. Brain fog, headache, body ache, and minor chills. Oddly enough, I don't feel sick, though. Kind of hard to explain the difference. If I weren't retired, I could have worked today, but it would have been a long day. I'm hoping it clears up tomorrow.

Oh no I'm sorry :( someone suggested that those of us who may have had covid might be reacting to it harder. I don't know if thats a thing but it seems to make sense to me.

Got my Moderna shot #1 3/10 my wife 3/11. Both at the same place, a Publix market pharmacy 30 miles or so away. Sadly there is another Publix 1 mile away that was booked. No way would they do hers when I got mine so we made the trip twice. No big deal nice view on the way. We both thought we got mild headaches after and a little sore arm. We do it over 4/7 and 4/8

Well, I am not sure if the "if you had covid already" means much in terms of reaction from the second shot.
A year ago first week in March my husband and I both came down with what we think was Covid. I started symptoms about 1 hour after he did back then so we caught it at the same time most likely. I didn't catch it from him. Had been to a large awards dinner a few days prior to onset of symptoms. Of course no way to know for sure but symptoms sure went along with Covid and while I tried to get some sort of antibody test later....no one around here would do one.

Anyway...he has only had some muscle aches and pains with the second shot. No fever like I had.
Fever did break during the night and I am left with bone crushing fatigue today and I slept more yesterday than I have slept since that 2 weeks I was so sick last March a year ago.
So I am on the mend. Far from 100% but feeling better than I did yesterday which at this point I would have to say anything would have been an improvement.

My mom...no real symptoms from the second shot. Of course her dementia is such she didn't know what house she was in yesterday...so take that with a grain of salt.
My hubby....some fatigue and vague muscle aches and pains but none so bad he couldn't take care of me which was desperately appreciated. I was totally wasted yesterday.
Me...sicker than dog crap yesterday but I apparently am over the hump today.

As usual...none of this turned out as I expected. I expected my mom to be worse and then maybe hubby and me being the last to get sick from the vaccine. Mother Nature screwed me again.

I will say this...arm was/is a LOT more sore and hubby mentioned this as well. He hasn't had the fever I had and his fatigue hasn't been as bad as mine. Now I now that my fatigue yesterday was likely related to the fever. I don't do fevers well since my normal temp is about a degree below 98.6....so when I hit 98.6 that means I already have 1 degree of fever. For me to hit 100 to 101...I am a sick puppy.

In general it did remind me a bit of how bad I felt March 2020 which I had full blown covid like symptoms...sore throat, fever, aches, coughing up my toenails kind of thing. Sure glad it only lasted 1 day of the really bad crap yesterday and I don't regret getting the vaccination. I never knew for sure if I had the covid last year and it could just as easily been the bad flu back then.

That fatigue is something. I hope your doing better !

I had the antibody test last year and was negative but my doctor said that she had patients who tested positive for covid and who were still showing negative antibody tests. So who knows 🤷‍♀️ I don't think they are sure of anything at this point. It will be years before all the data is analyzed and we start getting good solid information. If ever.

There is currently excellent data that all three of the EUA vaccines are highly effective and safe. CDC has reported 124 million doses administered as of March 21.

My comment was on the covid antibody test not the vaccine.

That sentence was part of a paragraph specifically talking about antibody covid testing.

Last I checked, a paragraph is considered

" a distinct section of a piece of writing, usually dealing with a single theme and indicated by a new line, indentation, or numbering"

Got my second Moderna shot yesterday. Have had muscle and joint pains, a low fever, headache, sore arm of course. Felt cold last night. Tired.

Also coughing and sniffling and congestion but that does not appear to be related to the vaccine, I think it's the pollen here. My girlfriend is also getting bad allergies right now. Had to use Afrin before I went to bed.

Interestingly my Airsense 10 stopped last night around 3 AM. I woke up eventually and lifted up my eye mask to see the machine's light was on, looked like the smart start had just turned on. Oscar shows a gap of two minutes where I guess I was just breathing stale air in the mask (although I had minimal taping with the blue sensitive skin tape across the center of my mouth in case the vaccine caused vomiting, didn't want to be tightly taped, and that tape I can easily force open with just my mouth - maybe I was mouth breathing some during that two minutes). The power alarm on the surge protector the machine is plugged into never went off (it's LOUD).
