Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?
Because you're full of crap, don't understand vaccines and should not have a platform. And since you insist on using CPAPTalk as your platform, then I will attack your credibility and the nonsense you spread.
As far as your asinine question is concerned, the answer is easy to find out, and the answer is NOT because the COVID vaccines are unsafe. Putting a little thought into it, and you would recognize, if they were known to be unsafe, the last thing the government would do is give legal immunity.
Spread your anti-vax crap somewhere else.

Re: Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?
The first shot introduces things to your body, the second shot a fever is just an immune response so a fever isn't a bad thing--once your body realizes it's not actually being attacked, the symptoms stop.
I'd rather have a few days of being miserable, as I have underlying conditions, than be hospitalized, personally.

i had stated earlier that i was to receive the moderna vaccine. this was due to my apparent inability to read the info on riteaid's website. instead, i received pfizer.
the injection site was sore yesterday but backing off today. also yesterday i felt a bit "muzzy"; not sick just not quite full strength.
STILL better than getting covid 19, as far as i can tell.
2nd shot, 4/1.
haircut, end of april.

Well I'm a big baby, and this is miserable. I feel like I was hit by a mac truck. That was my first and only covid vaccination. I'll pass on any boosters they decided to give.raisedfist wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 12:42 pmThe first shot introduces things to your body, the second shot a fever is just an immune response so a fever isn't a bad thing--once your body realizes it's not actually being attacked, the symptoms stop.

My father survived COVID. He was *very* fortunate to have survived. He's 85, very frail, and a smoker. He never took COVID serious.babydinosnoreless wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 12:50 pmWell I'm a big baby, and this is miserable. I feel like I was hit by a mac truck. I don't want to minimize what you're experiencing, but you absolutely don't want to experience what he went through. He felt like he was hit by a Mac truck that was on the flatbed of a train, for 3 weeks.
Take the booster, improve your odds from ~60-65% of not getting it to ~90-95%.
I'll take those odds, all day long.

I got both doses of the Shingrix vaccine and found both to be brutal.
Then I found out about someone I work with's spouse, who is partially blind in one eye as a result of shingles. Same person got covid and ended up in the hospital with a pierced/collapsed lung due to the covid infection. Still recovering six weeks later.
Yeah, I'll take the vaccines any day.

Interesting, I also had Shingrix #1 in October and the second one 2-3 months later. First one I had a sore arm for several days. Second one I had low grade fever / flu like feeling the day after which just confirmed it was doing its thing.tisket wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 1:58 pmI got both doses of the Shingrix vaccine and found both to be brutal.

My second Moderna shot is on Tuesday. We'll see how I wind up spending St Patrick's day. Still beats rolling the dice with Covid 19 IMO.

Listen to Dolly Parton's new song, "Vaccine", --tune from "Jolene".
She donated a pile of money for development of one of the vaccines.
Who on earth would fail to give that angel her money's worth?

Just saying my experience with vaccines is not all roses, making no claims beyond my own personal experience. Most of the stuff the anti-vaxxers push is not grounded in fact at all, we can agree. You should get the vaccine. I won't get it. I'm not alone on this.Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 12:27 pm>Why are you attacking me?

Oh, I am SO excited! NC FINALLY joined 37 other states following the CDC recommendations to allow those 16-64 with underlying medical conditions to receive the vaccine March 17 (moved up from March 24 on Thursday, yippee!). This afternoon, I was able to schedule appointments at a CVS an hour & a half away for hubby and myself (both 62, with 2 & 3 underlying conditions). I'll let y'all know how we do.

We frogs got our second shot early this afternoon.
The medical center is definitely not following the draconian guidelines of the GOPnervor.
Pete Ricketts --so grateful for term limits--we have had ENOUGH of him!

I'm sorry your dad was sick!
Since a booster hasn't been invented yet, I'll worry about it, when and if it ever happens. I hear lots of talk about making it for the new variants but until it happens I'm not gonna stress.
I said I wasn't getting the flu shot again and about 10 years later I got the flu really bad and changed my mind. I've had the flu one ever since, and thankfully haven't gotten sick from the shot again. So maybe in 10 years when I forget how miserable this shot was and they've worked out all the kinks ....

No you're not, you haven't stated one thing that is your own personal experience.cayenne wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 6:42 pmJust saying my experience with vaccines is not all roses, making no claims beyond my own personal experience.Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 12:27 pm>Why are you attacking me?
Because you're full of crap, don't understand vaccines and should not have a platform.
And your nonsense is???? Are you kidding? Most of the stuff the anti-vaxxers push is not grounded in fact at all, we can agree.
Perhaps you could explain the relevance of an (alleged) dog going deaf because of a vaccine to an mRNA vaccine in a human.
Because what you wrote above is asinine, and you think posting it is helpful. Your silly anecdotal crap, which may or may not have any relevance, is simply not of any value. It should not be considered the "other side" of the argument. You, and others like you have zero, experience, education and expertise and cannot present the other side of the debate against medical experts who have been working in the industry, and performed exhaustive tests. You should get the vaccine. I won't get it. I'm not alone on this.
If you don't want to get vaccinated, no problem, nobody here gives a crap. But when you post nonsense about the dangers, then expect to be challenged.
You don't even consider that your nonsense, might cause harm to others equally as ignorant.
