I used a "for her" loaner + P10 from my provider for a month. Worked great, no noise. Whisper quiet.
On that basis, I bought a brand new 10 AutoSet (not for her) + P10 last week and the machine vibrates and makes a low-pitched whirring noise when operating. It's especially pronounced on the exhale. Enough so that my wife heard it too. I put a thick mousepad underneath it, and it (mostly) solved the problem. My provider agreed to exchange my machine yesterday for a brand new AutoSet 10. Argh! Same thing on the new machine! The vibration/whirring seems to be coming from inside the AutoSet 10. Is it possible that Resmed has switched motor designs in the last few months? Anyone else has this problem with their new machine?
Note: I tried pushing/adjusting the humidifier box and tubing while the machine is running, no effect. I kept the "old" humidifier, climate line, and mask but they are only a few days old. Also, from what I know, the "for her" and the Autoset have the exact same guts except for the programming.

Re: Resmed Autoset S10 - Vibrates (two new machines)
Sounds like your DME got a bad batch of machines. Take it back and get another one and this time test it at their office before you take it home. The regular AirSense 10 AutoSet should be exactly as quiet as the first machine you trialed.
