There isn't an OSCAR android version that I am aware of.
Not sure about Chrome compatibility.

There is mention of Chrome here but I don't know what it means.

Thanks I'll look into it. Wife has new fancy mac but won't allow me to download it, to many warnings about security. Doesn't want a virus on her 3k fancy mac😜

Wives are funny about their toys.
We both know that those security warnings are just because OSCAR hasn't paid the big bucks to get the official okay from the Mac people which I guess is Apple or whatever.
We have lots of Mac users here using OSCAR without security issues.
I use a Windows laptop...and I did get the security prompt which I promptly ignored.
There are no bad guys hiding in OSCAR but it will be hard to convince the wife of that fact.

I know nothing about the Chrome stuff...sorry but maybe someone will come along and offer some insight.

You can download from http://www.sleepfiles.com using any browser.

If you're asking about Chromebook support, chromebooks with Intel or AMD processors are currently supported. ARM processors will probably be supported in the future but that is not available yet. See http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... _Chrome_OS for directions on installing on a Chromebook or Chromebox.

The official distribution source is http://www.sleepfiles.com and any version of OSCAR downloaded from there is safe. Both Windows and Mac will issue all sorts of dire warnings, as will some anti-virus programs, but, as Pugsy says, that's because it takes $$$, becoming a registered developer with Microsoft and Apple, and who knows how many more hoops have to be jumped through. That's not a viable course for free software and none of the developers have any interest in jumping into that meat grinder.

As for persuading your wife that the program is safe, I leave that as an exercise for the reader. :D

No, I am referring to Chromebooks with ARM processors. Those would be the cheapest Chromebooks (I think -- I don't have a Chromebook myself).

When you say "chrome OS," I hope you are referring to a chromebook or chromebox? If you are referring to something else, let me know what kind of computer you are talking about.

OSCAR should be installable and run on a chromebook or chromebox. But first confirm that your chromebook has an Intel or AMD processor and that you have, or can install, Crostini (the Linux beta) as described in the OSCAR installation instructions for Chromebook.
