It felt a bit better at 7cm but still slightly struggling to breathe freely. I think I may be able to fall asleep with it if I'm tired enough. I took it off though because my nostrils are in pain. They feel irritated and red and I have a feeling they'll be much worse tomorrow morning if I leave this thing on all night. I'm using the Pilario Nasal Pillows mask that came with the machine. I'm going to put a little bit of vaseline in my nostrils and see if it helps. Would turning up the humidity also help with this issue?Pugsy wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 10:45 pmSet the minimum to 7 cm...EPR on full time and set it to 3 and see how you feel with your breathing.
Gotta get you comfortable breathing or you won't ever be able to fall asleep and without sleep the data the machine gathers is useless.
Turn ramp off if you have it on.

Re: Self-Diagnosing, Looking for Min/Max Pressure Recommendations
The nasal pillows are too tight or too small if they are causing pain.
They should rest GENTLY against your nostrils. The most common error people make is they think they have to crank those suckers down TIGHT to prevent leaks. It's actually the inflation of the pillow that does the sealing and when too tight it can't inflate for one thing and the other thing when too tight it tends to pull the pillow inside the nostril and that does hurt like hell.
Don't use too much vasoline...it's a petroleum product and can damage the silicone and if you inhale it there is a remote chance it can cause lipid pneumonia. One night of sparing use...probably safe. Be sure to wash the nasal pillow really well in the AM and tomorrow go look for some Lansinoh lanolin ointment/cream to use. It's totally safe for the nasal pillow and you. Found in the baby aisle of most major stores because it is what breast feeding mom's use on their nipples. If it's safe for babies and nursing moms..it's safe for you to use.
What size Pilario are you using? I forget if it offers much in sizing options. Been a long time since I tried it but it should NOT cause pain at all.

I believe there is only one size for this model. THanks for the lanolin tip, I'll get that tomorrow. For now, I'll try leaving the nasal pillow a little looser. I was pushing it up at first a bit.

Re: Self-Diagnosing, Looking for Min/Max Pressure Recommendations
I could not fall asleep with the mask on last night. I turned the minimum pressure back down which made it feel slightly more tolerable but I couldn't relax enough to fall asleep with the thing on, even after taking melatonin. I took it off fell asleep immediately, and woke up about midway through the night to pee. I thought I must be so tired now that I'll be able to fall asleep with it on, but I put it back on and still couldn't relax. This is what my OSCAR reading looks like.

Your SD card MUST be in the machine when in use to get any of the detailed graphs.
You can't stick it in after the fact and get the details. The only thing stored in the machines internal memory is the summary data...that stuff you see on the left side.
Practice using the machine today while awake ...watching TV or reading or whatever so that your brain gets more used to the whole situation and routine.

The SD Card was in the machine when I was using it. I just took it out this morning. Should there be more?Pugsy wrote: ↑Fri Jan 01, 2021 1:24 pmYour SD card MUST be in the machine when in use to get any of the detailed graphs.

Yes. There should be more. Maybe the SD card wasn't inserted fully.
You should have almost 2 hours of detailed graphs. Awake data is still data and it still shows up.
You do have to watch when you insert the SD card so that you don't accidentally leave it not making good contact.
So when you insert the card watch to make sure the machine actually acknowledges it and then don't touch the SD card.

Someone on here said that the Sleep Quality setting should be set to "ON instead of USAGE for the machine to record any detailed data to the SD card." Mine was set to usage, so it sounded like this was going to fix my problem. I put the SD card in again, used it again last night, and now that I'm trying to review the data it's nowhere to be found. It doesn't even say that I used it last night. This is the SD card that came with the machine. I am making sure to unlock it before I insert it into the machine and lock it before I insert it into my computer. Does anyone have any idea why it's not recording?
Anyways, I was actually able to fall asleep with the mask on last night! I went to sleep at about 12, probably took until about 1 to become unconscious, and slept until my cat woke me up at 5! I struggled to get back to sleep with the mask on but I eventually did and woke up at about 6:30, not sure why. The mask was irritating so I took it off and slept without it until my alarm woke me up at 9 (in the middle of REM, unfortunately). I'd like to think that if my cat didn't push its way into my room I could've slept with the mask on all night. I wore the mask looser tonight which made it a bit more comfortable but could feel a bit of air flowing out onto my lower face. When I woke up initially the pressure was at about 8. I had it set to 5-12.

Sleep Quality feature on the machine does NOT affect the writing of the data to the SD card at all.
It only affects what you can see on the machine's LCD display.
If you got summary data to the SD card...it's writing to the card.
I need to think on this a bit.
When you insert the SD card into the S9 machine....do you see any messages? If so, what?
But last night you didn't even get summary data??? Is that correct? Do you have a different SD card you can try. Maybe the write protect tab got screwed up and didn't unlock it when you put the SD card back in the S9.

Yes, last night I didn't even get summary data. When I put the SD card in, it just says "Wait.. Reading SD card" for a few moments and then it goes to the home screen.

Re: Self-Diagnosing, Looking for Min/Max Pressure Recommendations
How many run hours does this machine have on it?
Run hours...not therapy hours.
I would start with a different SD card if it were me. You got the normal message...it should have written the data to the SD card.
It wouldn't be impossible for there to be a problem with writing to any SD card.
What do you see if you go look at the Sleep Report on the machine itself?

Here is the data collected by the machine, it seems accurate, just not transferring to the SD card. I will try a different SD card.
