help with pressure and charts (UARS)

Post by Hgabs » Tue Dec 15, 2020 10:39 pm

Hello

I am still having chronic bruxism and headaches (I have UARS and not apnea). I am wondering if I haven't set my pressure correctly. My questions is should I bump it up higher on the maximum. Have just started at the 11 cause I wasn't feeling better with the lower pressures. I am so confused

The one I attached with the variable breathing is what caused me to wake up at 4:40.

would appreciate any input

You need to make a slight correction to your leak statistics. You are having any time over the red line threshold for your machine.
That 24L/min red line is for ResMed machines. That's not going to work with your Respironics machine because Respironics machines report leak differently and have a different threshold anyway.

Go to Preferences then CPAP tab and change the 24 L/min red line number to something more appropriate for your machine and mask and pressure. Unfortunately Respironics never gives us a fixed threshold number to use because the threshold actually varies with the mask and pressure but 60 L/min would be a nice conservative number to use.

I doubt if increasing the maximum is going to do much because the machine doesn't really want to go up to 12 very much.
UARS doesn't trigger pressure increases really all that much.
More likely you need to increase the minimum first.

Any special reason you limited the max to 12 in the first place?

Now you could try more maximum just to see what happens and how you feel...won't hurt anything unless you limited the max because going higher caused a problem.

I changed the leak graph and attached it. Does that help? No particular reason - the doctor had it set at 7-12 and I have been going up in pressure myself.

What do you think I should set the min and max at?

I do wake up with a very dry mouth and am drooling a lot. maybe I should tape my mouth as well?
