Bleep mask full of condensation

Post by mets123 » Sat Dec 12, 2020 9:22 am

I have been using the bleep mask for over a month now. On a few occasions I get up with water in the tube and mask. I am presently using humidity at 3 and tube temperature at 78. My room is about 70 degrees at night.
Would you recommend raising tube temperature? Surprised I am getting this condensation since my room is pretty warm. Does anyone use a cozy cover around the bleep tube?
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Increase the hose/tube temp a couple of degrees and see how that works.
Or put a sock or hose cozy around the short hose.
What happens is the warmer air starts to cool as soon as it exits the long heated hose and by the time it reaches your mask at the nose it's too cool to hold onto the moisture what with the combination of humidity your machine is cranking out and what your body is cranking out when it exhales.

I prefer to just increase the hose air temp myself because adding a hose cozy to the short hose adds weight to the hose/mask and tends to tug on things a bit. I would only add a hose cozy if I was using max hose air temp and it still wasn't enough.

Thanks Pugsy, will raise tube temperature to 80 tonight and let you know how it goes.

I had this problem at first. The solution for me was to reduce humidity and raise tube temp. I did not try one before the other, but I recently set humidity up to 2 (was 1) because winter. Tube temp is currently 80.

I need less humidity with the bleep than I did with the tap pap ... I have less leaking and I think the extra flow from leaking was making the humidity less useful.

I also had a pressure reduction with the combination of the bleep and some more by switching to a resmed machine.

So you're on the right track with Pugsy's advice.
