Aor out my eyeballs
Does anyone ever get air bubbles under their eyelids while using a nasal pillow system? I am using a ResMed Auto Set Spirit with settings 8 to 20 and a Swift Nasal Pillow system with heated humidifier. I notice that 5 or 10 minutes into the start of therapy each time that I start getting air bubbles under my eyelid that actually burp out my eyelid. Not loud or anything but definitely a distraction. When I use a Nasal Mask I don't get it because the mask puts pressure on each side of the bridge of my nose so the air can't pass through to my eyelid. Just curious if I am a freak or what?

You are not a freak
I've had this happen so I talked to one of the respirology doctors here at work. He says that our tear duct system is connected to our nose. As an example, notice that when you cry, your nose runs. If the dryness bothers you, he suggested putting some ocular lubricant liquid or gel into the lacrimal fold (pull down slightly on the skin just under your lower eyelid so that the lower lid moves away from the eyeball. Look up, and put a bit of lub in the open 'fold' between the eyeball and the lower lid.) Pharmacist can help instruct you to learn how to do this and also, with which product to use.
Hope this helps.

No it's not uncomfortable in anyway...just kinda a distraction when you are almost asleep and then exhale and Blbbblbbblbbb under your eyelid. If I press on the skin next to the nare gently on the side that is affected (usually my left) it will stop for a few minutes....and again if I use my nasal mask it doesn't happen at all.
Oh by the way this is jdschooler posting from work so I show up as a guest.
