Re: Airsense 10 Making a Wheezing Noise Whenever I Inhale
I also don’t think that the majority of PAP users are on this forum or would think to mention it. Heck, lots of people just put up with the noise until the machine fails. I am not saying I would not recommend the machines, but I do think that this is a lot of the same, bad problem. I would be okay with it if the company stood behind them a bit longer, but they are generally failing before the 5 year mark and after the warranty is over, leaving us in the lurch.

Nothing but unsupported speculation.they are generally failing before the 5 year mark and after the warranty is over

Re: Airsense 10 Making a Wheezing Noise Whenever I Inhale
Mine went just before the 3rd year mark. Fortunately, here in Ontario a 3 year warranty is standard so I got a replacement with no hassles. Two more years and I will qualify for a new machine.
Maybe because it happened to me I am more aware of others having this problem, but it does seem to be a lot lately. Maybe Resmed got a bad batch of bearings or hooked up with a bad supplier. But if anyone is out of pocket for early failure, I would attempt to get Resmed to replace the machine.

Re: Airsense 10 Making a Wheezing Noise Whenever I Inhale
I’m just now having the same problem with my machine. I have had it 2-1/2 years and got it before Medicare age. Now if I need it replaced and am Medicare age I think Medicare will help as it will be the first machine sent through on Medicare side. Anyone had any luck making this noise stop. Or am I likely to have it die on me with no further warning?
Re: Airsense 10 Making a Wheezing Noise Whenever I Inhale
I've been having this problem also with my Airsense 10. Its 4 years old, so I cant qualify for a new one for another year. I had bought a slightly used For Her model awhile back as a backup which I only used for trips. The wheezing noise was driving both my hubby and me nuts so I got out my back up machine. It was fine for about 2 nights then it started the same wheezing noise. It only has about 500 hours on it, so I cant figure out why the blower would start to go so soon on it or on my original machine after only 4 years of use. I'm hoping to just put up with the noise for another year and hope it doesnt konk out completely until my insurance will pay for a new one.

Do some trouble shooting on your own and if you can't resolve the problem return the machine to wherever you got it from.
Make sure the filter is in the proper place.
Make sure all parts are connected properly and that includes the water chamber being inserted fully.
Make sure all parts of the mask are connected properly and there are no leaks anywhere.
See if you can for sure isolate where the unwanted noise is coming from by putting your ear close to the machine while it is blowing and you are breathing normally.

My 5 year+ old machine only makes slightly more noise than my newer one of 8 months.
Both are Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset for Her.
(Dang, I sure miss the equipment line)
I wonder if we will get it back.
*****I just noticed that I am using the tablet that usually boots me off the forum.
If I had to choose, this way is better.
Thank you, Carolyn.
