SoClean 2 and cleaning

Post by JoseyWales621 » Sun Nov 29, 2020 5:23 pm

Hello all! I am a new CPAP user and have had it for about a month. I purchased a SoClean with the rest of my equipment. My question is, what should my cleaning schedule be? I use my SoClean every day after I wake up and I also use mask wipes to clean my mask every day. How often should I be using soap and water to clean my hose and humidifier? I haven’t dumped the water since I have had it. I just add more each day as I’ve been figuring that the SoClean cleans it. Am I wrong on this? And if so how often should I be doing cleaning with soap and water?

Thanks

If you have nothing else to do tonight, why not go to the forum search bar and enter SC's name there... have fun reading all the stuff there about the absolute SCAM it is and how they've been in court now for ages trying to stay alive. See if you can get your money back.

Not only that, I hardly ever clean anything on a regular basis and have been on xpap for over 20 years. Soap and Water is all you need.

I was wondering how William Shatner (Capt. Kirk) lives with promoting "that which does not work".
He must have been hanging out with Ferengi.
I found proof in the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition:
#19. "Satisfaction is not guaranteed."
#60. "Keep your lies consistent."
#98. "Every man has his price."
#181. "Not even dishonesty can tarnish the shine of profit."
#212. "A good lie is easier to believe than the truth."
#239. "Never be afraid to mislabel a product."
Yes, indeedy; I think we know who he WORKS for.

Well as much as it pains me to admit it, after doing some searching and reading a few different threads I know feel as if I am just one of the many people who fell for their ruse. I had no idea until I posted this topic that it would void the warranty of my machine. Luckily I have only used it for a week. I see they have a 30 day risk free trial, has anyone had luck returning it? I am still within those 30 days but have discarded the box. At this point I’m trying to figure out if I should try to return it to the online retailer I bought it from or SoClean directly.

Return it wherever you bought it from - you should be ok unless you got it long ago.

If they give you any flak, lean on them, be a pest, etc.
They know what they did--and they need to grow a CONSCIENCE.

So thecpapshop contacted me this morning saying they would process the return for me. I am just lucky I got some of this info before I was out of my return period or it would have been a much more expensive lesson.

Good glad they are working with you. But they shouldn't be selling Soclean in the first place.

I have heard it is recommended to dump out the water everyday so mold cannot grow in the tank and give you a respiratory infection. That’s what I’ve heard, if I’m wrong someone will definitely correct me they know everything here lol

Don't dump every day - big waste of water unless you see anything building up in the tank, at which point you would dump, clean with vinegar, Q-tips, etc... and then refill, wait (days, wks) for more buildup, then clean again. Which is why distilled water is recommended for the tank, but tap water can be ok too, just depends where you live.

And you won't inhale mold from the tank unless you're a serious slob, and I think even then it would be doubtful.
