AirSense™ 10 AutoSet turns itself off

Post by Sleepless in Ca » Thu Nov 19, 2020 10:06 pm

My 3 year old AirSense™ 10 AutoSet now for the last 6 days turns itself off once to twice a night while I am sound asleep. I wake up feeling like I am suffocating and pull my mask off. I wait about 30 seconds, put the mask back on and it works fine until it does it again. Anyone know what is wrong? Thanks

Check to see if the "smart start" setting is turned on. If it is, turn it off.

The A10 should not be doing this. Is it possible you are having momentary power outages that cause the power to go on and off in your house? I have had 2 Airsense 10s over the last 6 years, both with the "smart start and stop" setting. I have only had the A10 go off during sleep during power outages, even ones that just flicked the power on and off. With the smart start and stop settings , it takes about 10 seconds after taking the mask off for the A10 to shut off.

I would have the machine checked out. This sounds like a defect.

This has happened to me several times over the past 6 months but certainly not nightly. Horrible when it does happen tho

It's always nice when a poster comes back after getting suggestions to indicate if anything works....too many never respond

Way too uncommon--but downright WONDERFUL when we get a little "attaboy".
I guess not this time.

The "thanks" was written in the original post asking for an answer...not in response to the suggestions.

I know.
I just thought I would help the OP out.
I am sure your advice worked and OP is so happy the OP forgot to come back and do the right thing.
Probably still asleep.
Some people need a little boost.

My Airsense will shut off if too much air runs through it so check all your connections also e.g. Humidifier isn't snapped in all the way. It doesn't hurt to test the outlet. If you have an older house test with a multimeter. Trying another outlet or taking faceplate off to see if wires are loose if you don't have a multimeter. Outlets like all electronics do go bad(not often), GFI's go bad more often.
