Sleep Lab says 23cm!! but they were wrong...

I am a newbie hosehead and recently posted about my hurricane level 23 cm titration.

Quite upset because I was really looking forward to using the Invacare Twilight NP interface. Thinking that 23 cm would blow the nasal pillow and head gear across the room. (I don't know why it is not listed in any of the websites for the Twilight NP but the pressure limit for this interface is 20 cm.)

Well after 2 uncomfortable nights with my Ultra Mirage full face mask I opted to give the Twilight NP a try anyways. I am a stomach sleeper and the Ultra Mirage full face was not allowing me to do that. So, I bought the Invacare Twilight NP and the Encore Pro software w/ /USB card reader.

I was unaware of my actual levels during the first (2) nights of sleep as I did not have Encore Pro yet. My DME set my BIPAP to auto with a maximum IPAP titration of 23 cm. not sure where they set the EPAP.

Last night was my first night with my new Twilight NP and was it amazing!!!! I slept the whole night straight and I was in heaven.

According to Encore Pro my 90% pressure levels for IPAP was 15 and EPAP was 13. Quite different than the 23 cm the sleep lab indicated.

Also my AHI index on the Twilight NP was 3.5 compared to 8.8 with the Ultra Mirage full face.

Thank God for my Bipap Auto finding my correct pressures and for the awesome Invacare Twilight NP allowing me to sleep comfortably.

Encore Pro and My Encore are also must have tools also.

Thanks Snoredog.... You are absolutely correct. I did not take this into consideration.

I was not allowed to sleep on my stomach at the sleep lab. Thus, I got less than an hour sleep there.

Being a stomach sleeper the titration levels were not correct for me.

Encore Pro is so important for anyone who cares about their Xpap therapy. So important to know what is going on with your treatment it almost makes no sense not to have it. In fact it should be a requirement.

I'm glad the mask is working for you. I love it. Remember, you can always stabilize it with a stretchy strap across the pillows. And make sure you watch your leak levels to be sure you don't mouth breathe/leak.
