How did you sleep? Very many wake ups during the night? Fiddling with the mask very much?
First few nights with a new mask always seemed to cause me to wake often.
It's not just about AHI numbers and what the graphs shows.....it's also about how well you sleep and feel.

And yes, the Brevida's diffused venting makes it nice for the bed partner not getting cold air blown on them.
When I changed from the Swift FX to the ResMed P10 nasal pillow mask my husband was happy to report no more cold air being blown in his face or the back of his neck. He had never really complained about it but about a month into the change he asked me "did you change masks, I no longer get cold air being blown on me and it's kinda nice".

You are having a little bit of leaking happening with the Brevida but if it doesn't wake you up there's not enough to worry about.
Now any leak that wakes you up (no matter if big or little) is unwanted because it is disturbing sleep. Anything that disturbs sleep is unwanted.

Well, I get uset to this mask, as I have it since the start, and swap them from time to time (when the one I just cleaned is not dry per example).

Funny thing, with both mask, sometime I sleep well, sometime I'm disturbed by leaking, no matter wich is used, but I'm affraid this happen more with the brevida.

This particular night, I thing I woke up about 4 times, not sure

I can sleep a long time, I always feel sleepy during the day. Not as much as before cpap, but I know it could be better. I don't need a nap anymore, but I'l fall asleep if not buzy in the afternoon.

Your husband is certainly smarter than my wife, as se give me the choice of learning to to sleep on the other side, change mask or put a wall between us in the bed....

Should'n it be bed time in the usa?

Nope. Where I am at it's around 11 AM right now. I am only 6 hours behind GMT.

It took me about 3 months into cpap therapy to quit waking up just because of the therapy itself and I didn't have comfort or leak issues with the mask. The brain just has to get accustomed to the new normal of having the alien being plastered on its human's face.

When we have multiple wake ups we don't get the normal cycles of the various sleep stages that the body needs in normal sequence and needed amounts for the restorative powers of sleep to work their magic.

So while the OSA is probably well treated....the sleep quality itself still leaves something to be desired and sleep quality itself is very important. You are new to therapy and it's to be expected that the brain just hasn't fully accepted its new normal....that alien being plastered on its human's face. It will get better with time and experience. You will learn to manage the leaks better and the leaks that might happen you will learn to sleep through them more often than not. There's a good and bad side when that happens.
I can now sleep through some really big leaks which obviously isn't a good thing when they are really big and really prolonged. Fortunately they don't happen often now but they used to.

With frequent wake ups there is the possibility of false positive flagging of events by the machine. The machine itself only measures air flow and it has no way at all to know if you are asleep or not. Awake breathing is very irregular when compared to asleep breathing but the machine just calls things like it sees them and it responds as well. So some of your flagged events very well could be false positives.

While it mainly talks about CA/central apnea arousal related flagged events...it's not limited to centrals. We can have any event category get a false positive flag.
