Hello everyone
I have been on CPAP for about 3 months now. Have diagnosis of mild sleep apnea with 15 events per hour And oxygen sat measured at 79% during sleep study. Previously I have complained about always being tired for the past 15 years at least. I was a healthy active young man, felt like I slept like a stone, didn’t move much at night at all, so the apnea diagnosis actually came as a complete shock to me, and actually only had the sleep study done to rule it out after some very high liver enzyme test results.
At first CPAP was very challenging. I couldn’t sleep with the machine at all! The past month has gone quite well actually, however I’m having some issues I never had before. I’m tossing and turning throughout the night, Compared to before CPAP I feel as though I sleep very lightly (honestly felt as tho I was in a coma before CPAP), and the fact that I can remember being restless through the night leads me to think I’m not sleeping as I should. My sleep study also revealed that I do have some restless leg syndrome, even tho it wasn’t affecting me prior to CPAP. I sleep relatively well for 3-5 hours, then I wake up at 2-3 am and feel like it’s morning and often have trouble getting back to sleep.
On the upside, I am no longer fighting to stay awake during the day, hopefully my memory and brain function will return to what it was before this whole mess started..
Looking for advice
Thank you.

Re: Tossing and turning
Welcome! The people here would love to help you figure this out.
Do you have access to a laptop or desktop computer? If so, check to see whether there's an SD card in your machine; if there isn't, buy one (cheap is fine) and put it in there. Check your computer to see if there's an SD card reader; if there isn't, buy one (cheap is fine). Then download the Oscar software:
https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/
Read the guide first.
Final step: take a screenshot of a Daily chart, following instructions you'll find near the top here on how to format it.
This may sound like a lot of trouble, but it really should take you a grand total of less than 30 minutes. It will give you, and the people here, a lot of insight into what might be causing you to sleep less soundly than you'd like.
Let us know if you have questions along the way.

Do you have a copy of your report? If so, can you tell us exactly what your report says about limb movements?

Re: Tossing and turning
Sleep study report says
“Periodic limb movements noted with an index of 5.6 events/hour. Mild motor restlessness noted”
Clinical Interpretation
Mildly increased limb movement was noted with increased arousals. Consider evaluating patient for ferratin, vitamin b12 (both are good) and lumbar radiculopathy as underlying causes to PLMS with arousals (never got that done with all the stupid Covid restrictions going on)
