sleep deprived for 5 years
sleep deprived for 5 years
hello ,im new here , ive been sleeping a good 8 hours a night for 3 months using the cpap and still havent got that refreshed feeling in the mornings , im a little worried its not working andif anyone else has had the same experience . I use the full face mask and find most of the air blowing out the exhalation holes , shouldnt that air be going directly into my nose ?

Re: sleep deprived for 5 years
The vents in a mask are designed to clear the mask of exhaled air and prevent rebreathing air and dangerous buildup of carbon dioxide.
The CPAP loop is designed to create a pressure sufficient to hold the airway open during sleep. Technically speaking, it doesn't blow air into the nostrils. It only creates a pressure.
You don't mention whether you are following data from your machine's display or from OSCAR. What is your typical AHI? Leak level? Pressure?
Also, how is your sleep hygiene, diet, exercise, medications?
Please fill out your equipment profile - https://www.cpaptalk.com/ucp.php?i=ucp_ ... pment_info

With a Full Face Mask the pressurized air comes into the mask and you inhale it into your nose...it's not forced. You are not losing your therapy out the exhalation vents...

lsat and granny have pretty much said it. but i want you to know that we don't all have the same machine(either make or type) nor the same mask. so it's important to know all the details you can give us, right down to the pressure settings you are using.
once the experts here know more, they will be better able to advise you.
just remember that you aren't alone. we've gone through the trials of being new to therapy.
you can do this.
we can help.
good luck!
