I would challenge this statement. I worked in schools for many years and especially the school I was at when my kids were young by far and away the biggest group of non vaccinated were Indian and hispanic/indian mix. Its a real issue and its not poverty because they would being in free vaccine clinics and the parents would keep their kids home that day.

My county has a high of unvaccinated children. In my county it is the young, white over-privileged parents who outright refuse to vaccinate. These kids are not seen in public schools any more because California no longer accepts most exemptions. They tended to be more likely to be home schooled or attend private schools even before the new law took effect in 2019.

We also have a large Hispanic population because of the agriculture in the county. Most of the Hispanic population would vaccinate in the past, but more recently there is a backlash because people who are not citizens (not just undocumented, but those with green cards too) fear losing the right to pursue citizenship if they accept Medi-Cal (Medicaid), thanks to the policies of the current occupant of the White House.

One would hope for faith-based free clinics, but churches seem to be focused on
power, revenue, and cover-ups, as opposed to service.

pugsy, this thread has served it's purpose and is now heading toward anti-vac, which i asked not be the case.
