I can't promise that it will go away but it might and it's not like you have a long list of options to try.
There have been members report really bad aerophagia issues at so and so pressure....so they backed up and let the LES hopefully strengthen a bit so as to not let the air in the stomach as easily....and then they revisited more pressure but much more slowly and in teeny tiny increments and they were able to finally use the higher pressures needed and not have bad belly issues as a by product.
It's tied to the LES IMHO...that Lower esophageal sphincter is weak or maybe a bit damaged from GERD or stuff like that.
If you have a history or GERD or even a hiatal hernia...the LES might be compromised. If you are having GERD symptoms...try treating them appropriately to lessen the damage the stomach acids can do to the LES.
Also the usual aerophagia symptom relief stuff...elevate the head of the bed, sleep on a wedge, etc.

I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
Re: Vauto mode vs S mode for UARS
to the OP: i am one of those people that pugsy refers to. i couldn't tolerate much over 7 or 8. but by sslloowwllyy increase my minimum pressure over months, i conquered it. today, i'm using a pressure of min 18 and max of 20, without aerophagia.Pugsy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 1:07 pmI can't promise that it will go away but it might and it's not like you have a long list of options to try.

to pugsy: i don't think i've seen the explanation that you've given here before! this echoes my experience down to the hiatal hernia. thanks for the explanation.

Re: Vauto mode vs S mode for UARS
... Vauto or fixed (s) mode right now? what has your flow limitation chart looked like when it was good and when it was bad?
....unrelated to your comments, I have been met with some heavy aerophagia as my pressure has increased. I have not been getting any centrals at all but this damn gas is so annoying. Should I try the remedies and if that doesnt work, decrease pressure a little?
Sorry delay,
_ always fixed mode VAUTO since long ago...as I said fluctuations does not pay off (leaks, pressure punching on my face; sleep instabiities; increase pressure in false events, and son on)...
_long ago, while on APAP, I had some aerophagia (due to higher minimum pressures); since VAUTO, no more....at that time, I researched that aerophagic could also be also caused by moves while sleeping (take a look at Barry Krakow's book " Sound sleep....he talked a little bit about this);
good luck

Re: Vauto mode vs S mode for UARS
_ I feel I could improve my respiration, and you guys tip me to this simple thing I had not tried yet: just increase EPAP. I will do it and report back
Very grateful
[/quote]
_ Well, reporting back as I mentioned, concerning keep on trying to battle residual flow limitations/quasi-hypopneas (absolute majority never flagged), followed by arousals-awakenings-wake ups by INCREASING EPAPmin, from 7.2--7.4--7.6--7.8, while mantaining fixed as = PS + EPAP (I much prefer fixed pressures since long ago), and up to maximum IPAP: 11.8.
_ I did that for some 13 days, and, unfortunately, did not work. Increasing EPAP min, increased respiratory rate, which brought significant discomfort leading to more awakenings and lower sleep efficiency, and too-early definitive wake ups;
_so, for while I have backed to 7.4/4.2/11.6. Things got as before. Maybe I would have to live with forever....
good luck
