My question is sleep-related, but not about CPAP, hence semi-OT:)
Other than mouth breathing, what are some reasons for dry mouth after sleep? I had this problem before the CPAP. I asked my partner multiple times to make sure I'm not mouth breathing, and I tried mouth taping just in case,
it's definitely not it. I always need to have some water beside by bed for this reason.

Re: Semi-OT: Dry mouth while sleeping
If you're generally a bit dehydrated, that could explain it. If you drink alcohol in the p.m., that can dehydrate you even if you're well enough hydrated during the day. And over time, salivary production slows down.
Some forum members get relief from Xylimelts. They are slow-release discs that stick to your gums or teeth and stimulate saliva production.

Medication side effects.
General hydration.
General nutrition.
Other health conditions that might cause dryness. The list is very long.
Smoking or not.
Thyroid issues or not
Diabetes or not.
Maybe simply the salivary glands aren't working optimally.
As mentioned already...alcohol use or not.
Just one reference source...there are tons out there
