Resmed P10 nasal mask!

Post by Cannuck 1 » Thu Jul 23, 2020 7:32 pm

The P10 is a wonderful mask and have used it for yrs, I'm writing this thread because every once in a while I will get the hard breathing symptom every once in a while sleeping. It is usually moisture that restricts the already small exhaust ports that make for a quiet sleep. So if you get this feeling of hard breathing check for rain out in line and nose piece. I usually clean with Alcohol swaps to remove moisture quicker and it will kill germs also. Some suggest not to use Alcohol swaps but it works for me and have been using them for 5 years with the same mask with a 1 nose piece change. I have the climate Resmed hose that is great in the winter months but I still get moisture in high humidity summer months.
Rain out will be a issue for me from time to time so a person has to be on alert for it.

I use a water pic to flush out the schmutz that collects in the mesh diffuser.
Some use a denture tablet in water, but the mint is too strong for my liking.

I have a water pic and that is a good idea, the alcohol swap does work but when water droplets gets to overwhelm the mesh size, I will try the water pick and the alcohol swap afterwards.

I tried you method of cleaning the diffuser on my P10 mask with the water pic and it has a lot of merit, it can be a little messy with mist. Sleep very well last night after trying your excellent method. I like my P10 mask and it has some areas that might need a little maintenance once in a while. Thanks!

I know about the mess.
I have been known to clean my mask just after showering--still naked.

Thought I would take a magnification of what the Diffuser mesh looks like on the Resmed Airfit P10 mask. It is about 400X with my USB microscope. The picture is not the best because I could not transfer a BMP file of the photo so I improvised and took a picture of it off the computer to a JPG file with my cell phone.
This is how it becomes so quiet when breathing, the air has to pass around all the weaves . This mask is well over 4 years old and it is still working well.

This is one of the quietest exhausts of any masks out there because of the weaving of the nylon material and does not blow streams of air on your arm when sleeping like other masks.

Normally doesn’t blow air on your sleeping partner either

Well just found some interesting information out that a person can make his or her P10 mask head strap adjustable by using the N30 head strap in combination of P10 hose breathing end. Man that is great news for me & I'm going to order a few. Part# 64216
