The for Her model is the slight favourite because it has an extra optional mode, this advantage isn't huge because the for Her algorithm really isn't used much.
and, again, chicks dig guys who use the for her model.

Dog Slobber,
Sorry I should have said, its a Dreamstation Auto, a replacement for the S9 Auto.
I agree with your suggestion why change from Resmed to Respironics, its the provider that is suggesting the Deamstation Auto is the better of the 2.
Canadianguy
There are several very different S9 "auto" machines.

No Dreamstation is a replacement for any of them, or at least, not an adequate replacement.

The DreamStation Auto was released in 2015, the Airsense in 2014. A one year difference on a six year old device is not really a huge technology leap.
Especially for a manufacturer that was already technologically *behind*, and stayed behind.

ResMed algorithm (around here) is considered the preferable algorithm, perhaps the only complaint might be ResMed is too aggressive. This can be mitigated by using the Soft Response.
People that don't understand it call it "aggressive", but what it really is, is responsive, ie, it responds to your changing needs throughout the night, while the Respironics takes longer to do *anything*, and when it does act, it does so in bigger jumps than the Resmed, which has more finely grained settings.

Thanks for the replies everyone,
I was leaning to the AirSense 10 Auto for her before the supplier tried to convince me otherwise. The arguments presented where the ResMed AirSense 10 Auto is an older model, where as the Respironics Dreamstation Auto was a newer model with better software and hardware.
"newer" does not necessarily equate to "better", when changing to a different brand.

Nothing by Respironics has *ever* had "better software" OR "better hardware", in fact, Respironcs has had numerous design issues that have plagued their machines over the years. Whether they fixed the poorly designed internal connectors going to the humidifier heater in the Dreamstation or not, it's honestly a little early to say.

This is just great to see so many responses to my inquiry on the same day, thanks again to everyone for their feedback and support. We are so lucky to have such a forum, with such great people, I have and will continue to promote this site to others I find with sleep apnea.
Cheers and best wishes to all, remain healthy,

Well today I pick up my new AirSense 10 Autoset for her, was unaware this machine has wireless daily reporting to ResMed. My RRT said they would be calling in in a week to report on my logged data to that point and review. I must comply with full assimilation, resistance if futile as insurance will cause self destruct if non-compliant. All joking aside, I have no problem being 100% compliant in hours of use. Thanks to everyone for sharing options, Ideas and facts on what these 2 machines had to offer in both hardware and software. I called my wife to have a look at the posted responses "Because chicks dig guys who use the AutoSet for Her" , she just grinned at me.....lol.

Thanks,
Canadianguy

Before cellular moderns people had to send in their sd cards for this purpose (if required by insurance).

Once insurance is happy you can turn off cellular if you want.

and before that, they had to send them in by pony express.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Once you have put the machine, it will nag you forever to turn it back on.
Pain in the sphincter, yes, but not worth the trouble to stop.

Yeah it does, but I can deal with that. *IF* the machine used the cellular connection to get the correct time I would consider it more useful, but it doesn't. There's no benefit to me to share that information (even if it can't be tied to me except through the DME that sold the machine to me, which is CPAP.COM, and not likely to care).

There is no immediate benefit to you, but Resmed claims that they use the collected data to develop more effective treatment methods in the future.

Adding data to that pool can help benefit everyone.

Had an S9 for five years. Worked great. For some reason when I was eligible for a new machine I went withe the Dreamstation. Luckily I had a one - month window to in exchange it for a different machine. Readings all over the place. After two weeks I took it back and got the A10. Life is good again.
