I am exhausted during day. Need help with OSCAR software

Thanks I am not sure what is going on. Dr told me to raise pressure on machine. I think I will go back to my dr.

Do you have any issues with restless legs or limb movements during sleep?

Yes I do I was hoping these reports would tell me something. Supposed to get sleep study sleep lab closed because of virus. It could be my machine it is 7 yrs old.

There is a lot of info on this forum about limb movements and kteague can be a huge source of help.

I remember seeing on here people who managed to video record their sleep. If money is no object Arlo cameras work well in the dark, are wireless, record to the internet, and are triggered by movement.

Also noticed you are using ramp and it seems to be set for a long time, possibly the max? How long? It's been a long time since I used ramp, iirc you have to manually press ramp? Also iirc during the ramp period the cpap doesn't respond to or record any events.

This is true of ResMed machines...in ramp they don't record events but Respironics machines will record during ramp if they happen.
In fact if in auto mode on a Respironics machine and during ramp if an apnea event happens the machine will suspend ramp and go to the therapy pressure setting in an effort to remedy the situation. This is only in auto mode though on the System One machines.
Now the new DreamStation models have a similar feature available even in fixed pressure. I think they call it Smart Ramp or something like that.

Yes I do use ramp when I first go to bed usually 20 minutes. I even hit ramp when I wake up during the night to help me go back to sleep.

I have nights where my legs hurt unless I am moving them constantly. I cannot sleep when this happens. I usually just walk around my house and I have a creme I put on my legs which helps. I dont think i am having them in my sleep.

Classic restless leg syndrome. Happens to me sometimes. Advil MAY help. Otherwise, your doctor can treat.

Restless legs is horrible at times. My mother had it. My sister has it . Just one of those things I inherited

That's something you need to know, first so you can know if you need to focus outside your sleep apnea treatment, and secondly to know if your legs are responsible for your unrefreshing sleep. A sleep study while using your machine at it's therapeutic level should give you some answers if you don't want to go it alone with home videoing. You need to know if you also have periodic limb movements of sleep, which you wouldn't be aware of since they happen during sleep. You do not need another diagnostic study without your machine, as what you need to know is what's happening while using the machine. And you don't need another titration as your machine data should tell them if your treatment is effective. People who have limb movements of sleep and sleep apnea need the sleep apnea wakings treated to see what the legs are doing when not interfered with by sleep apnea events.

What meds are you on? Some meds can actually cause RLS and/or PLMD. Rule that out first. On The RLS Foundation forum I usually see it recommended to have one's ferritin level tested and get the exact number of the result. Can't accept "within normal range" as an answer because those with RLS/PLMD are thought to need to maintain a level around 100, while much lower is acceptable for those without leg issues. Also check your Magnesium, Vitamin D, and B Vitamins - anything pertinent to nerve and muscle function. I would suggest doing all these natural routes first. Please do not start any heavy duty meds like dopamine agonists without making sure the ferritin level is as recommended above. It is thought by those who deal with this all the time that those with a sub optimal ferritin level (much less than 100) are more prone to developing side effects and/or augmentation on those meds and you REALLY don't want to go down that road. The video link in my signature line shows what augmentation on these meds did to my legs. Not to leave you without hope, some find improving their health baselines as discussed above gives enough relief to avoid prescription meds. Once I got off the meds I have for the last 10 years managed my symptoms by using a TENS Unit on my lower back (buttocks) before bed, and rarely even need to use it lately. Good luck with figuring things out. Personally, I see a value in videoing yourself to see if there's an apparent issue to pursue.

I was put on synthroid generic when I switched drs last year for my thyroid. I had been on brand name synthroid before then because i did not do so well on generic. I called dr Monday and told him i want to be put back on brand name synthroid. I started taking that now to see if it helps.

As far as sleep study Medicare refuses to pay for any supplies or machine till I get sleep study. My dr wrote letter to Medicare asking them to waive the sleep study for now because of virus. I will find out today if I will be able to get machine. My machine needs to be replaced it is 7 yrs old. I am told they are usually replaced from 3-5 yrs.

I am so ready to start feeling better. I have to take nap
just to get through the day now constantly yawning. I have not got anything to video tape my sleep yet.
